Hi,

When I create content on my Mac and copy across a Network share to a Windows machine, it results in the file on the windows machine (and its parent folder) having a padlock and not generally accessible to all Users.   This can be annoying as I often create videos on my Mac and share them from a Windows server, and the clients (like ATV2 and Box) are unable to see these videos.

Is there a way to always copy files across and have "full access" by all users on the Windows machine?

Thanks

Mike

Mike,

Two suggestions. Check that you have sufficient network privileges to start with. Secondly, right click on a file you would like to share and click Get Info. Check in the Sharing & Permissions section that the correct users or user group are listed and with appropriate privileges. If not, click on the padlock to modify. Hope this helps.

Edit: One more thing. Check the shared folder(s) is set up correctly. Again, you need sufficient network privileges for this. Go to System Preferences, Sharing (under Internet & Network). Is File Sharing service on? Have the correct Shared Folders and Users been added?
