Hi

I am trying to burn some DVD data discs (with TIFF images on) for a client.

I have previously done this, on this machine, with discs from this pack.

However, I now have 4 wasted discs on my desk at $4 each.

The disc burns to around 46% and then I get this message:

"The disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E)."

Google tells me that I am very far from the only person to ever have this issue and that despite numerous things that sometimes work for some people, no one has ever solved the problem.

The machine is under Apple Care so I am on the phone to them tomorrow morning.

Just wondered if anyone else had come up against this and found a way forward? I am not happy wasting 8.5Gb DL discs like this, I must say.

I spoke with Apple Support today.

They looked at the burn log and have suggested that I change disc brand. I was using Imation discs which are made by Ritek.

They said that most Ritek discs are poor because only the lower grades are used for rebranded third parties.

TDK work well in the machine but their Dual Layer discs are hard to find here in NZ (but you can have 50 for $30 in the USA!). Verbatim get good reviews and so I am going to see if I can get some of those.
