Interesting advertising move. Sure a Mac has the ability to open/edit those files in either iWork or MS Office....but I wouldn't go so far as to call it a better experience. I use MS Office for Mac 2011 daily, alongside Office 2010. 2010 is definitely more featured. 2011 is kinda nicer to look at though :)

I will agree that a Mac is better in almost all other areas though...day to day tasks and such. Also much better for power user utilities if you're into that stuff.

i have microsoft office 2011 on my macbook air and office 2010 on my windows 7 desktop (i have also used office 2008 for mac and office 2007 for windows in the past). i personally prefer microsoft office for windows - faster and more features. occasionally, office documents saved on mac will not retain the same format when open on windows. however, i have not yet encountered problems with files that were saved on windows.

i enjoy using mac and the overall experience is 'okay', but this macbook air is probably the last mac for me. i prefer to have choices.

Based on the number of results for a search for that phrase, it's actually boilerplate supplied by Apple - http://www.google.com/search?gcx=w&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=%22a+mac+is+better+at+the+things+you+d.... So that would explain why it's facetious, arrogant, and wrong.

i have office 2008 for mac, and 2007 for pc, i dont like office 2008 for mac at all. office 2007 for pc is ok

i prefer pages to ms word, and its a lot cheaper (via the mac app store around $28 i think), but yeah thats misleading advertising.

you cant really say its better at any of that, its an opinion, not a fact which one is better at those. chrome is chrome on win or mac.

You're dealing with some superseded versions on both sides of the fence though.

2007 has been superseded by 2010

2008 has been superseded by 2011.

Both are very different versions of their predecessors.

Ive come to Office Mac 2011 from Office Win 2007 and have to say i much prefer the windows version, even though its much older.

I would say mac is easier to use, but to say that it is better at everyday tasks is clearly marketing BS

I've always preferred the older versions of Microsoft Office on both formats...
Then, I do find change scary...

what he said. I run a Windows 7 virtual machine on my macbook air for the sole reason of using office under windows. Mac is great for most other things but I find Windows version of office to be so much easier...esp Outlook.
