About to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion...
Heres my options, is my thinking correct?
Option 1
- install Lion on top of Snow Leopard (of course will make a DVD with the downloaded file and another with the .dmg for booting).
- After the upgrade run time machine and restore my back up last made prior to upgrade.
- Do the updates.
- Back up to time machine on the new OS.
- Run the boot CD or USB key Ive made and do a clean install.
- Restore from time machine to the last back up I made.
Option 2
- Run the boot CD or USB key Ive made and do a clean install.
- Restore from time machine to the last back up I made
- Run the updates.
I like Option 1 as it has it enables the recovery partition to be installed and I can check if my apps copied across etc...but then again, if they didnt then my bad luck and too late. (as who really wants to roll back).
Thoughts?
