Hey guys,

I want to plug my mid 2009 mac book pro into my new iMac 27inch and use it as a display. I've been searching for a cable and asking people in the shops but no one has come up with anything. One post I read said I can use a standard display port cable which I dont think is correct.

Is anyone else doing this or know what I should be buying?

Cheers,

According to this http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3924 all you need is a mini displayport to mini displayport cable.

Didnt know you could do this, wow!

If it's the latest model iMac I think you need a thunderbolt enabled mbp to run it like that. Stupid I know but that's what I heard
