Hi everyone

I have a MacBook Pro that is around one year old. I've seen all the update PR in the last two days about the new iCloud. So, went to download it,  but my computer said I needed 10.7. Did some more digging and found out that I need to pay for the upgrade through the App store for Mac OS X Lion, is that correct? Quite confusing from Apple really.

Then if I pay for the upgrade, will it my Mac automatically look for new Lion updates without me having to keep paying?

Any help would be fantastic, I am running a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

Thanks!

Yes OS X Lion is only available to download through the Mac App Store - you can't buy it on DVD in a shop.

Once it's installed it will look for updates and notify you if there are any.

It's available for $99 on a USB flash drive from apple.co.nz. I was hoping to pick one up from JB Hifi a week or two ago and unfortunately they didn't appear to have it, but i would have thought that Yoobee would have them in stock.

I have heard whispers that Snow Leopard (10.6) may gain iCloud support in a future incremental update, but I'm not sure whether that information is reliable. It does seem strange that an operating system that was superceded only a few months ago would lack iCloud support.

Lion's good, still not working great for me and I'm using a quad core mbp :( I'd say it's worth it overall, but had a couple of kernel panics and frozen apps that I never got before
