Hi am new to mac (and geekzone) so don't know where to start. Have mid-2010 MBP, Leopard OSX 10.6.7.  Have tried connecting at the library using airport but just scans. No available wifi name comes up.  May have mucked up the settings when I first got it and can't remember what they were originally.  Am wanting to get wireless broadband (Orcon genius) at home but pointless if I can't get my laptop to connect to it.  Thanks in advance for your help.

If you think you may have mucked up settings, easiest thing to try is to create a new network location.
System Preferences > Network > Network Location > Edit > "+" button to create a new blank network location.

This should eliminate any settings you may have inadvertently changed.

Cheers,
Joseph

No worries at all. If that doesn't work, the next thing I would try would be to create a new user account and try to connect from that account.

Cheers,
Joseph
