I've noticed people talking about Apple updating their licence agreements which allow some OS X versions to be virtualized.

Now... is it legal to virtualize OS X Snow Leopard+ on a vmware product such as ESXi5 or player? I don't want to be breaking any rules here..

TIA!

I seem to remember some chat around this when OS X first went x86 and the EULA stated it could only be installed on Apple Hardware, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OSx86 seems to tell me this is the case stating that the EULA and the EULA found http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/macosx106.pdf states

"Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, unless you have purchased a Family Pack or Upgrade license for the Apple Software,
you are granted a limited non-exclusive license to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-branded computer at a time. You
agree not to install, use or run the Apple Software on any non-Apple-branded computer, or to enable others to do so."

Most problems are the result of previous solutions...

You can only virtualise OS X on Apple hardware. ESX does support OS X but the license still prohibits it.
