Hia ll

I've never been a MAC user, but as I have 2 iDevices, I'd like to try MAC OS, but I cannot justify a Base $1599 for a MAC Air or $1999 for a base MBP,  While iOS devices are a bit more cost than the equivalent Android, these laptops are hugely more expensive than their Windows equivalents.

So a MAC MINI seems a good option as I have a spare, nice 22" LCD.

Not as portable, not as nice a screen, but lower cost.

Opinions??

Tks to all

Hmmm, can I remote control it with an iOS app?

+1 Great HTPC although if you are in a satelite only area trying to find a freeview tv tuner compatible with a mac is a bit of a problem. They are small and silent and also make great headless file servers.

The default iTunes "Remote" app works with it, there's also a number of 3rd party apps like AirMouse  .

My HTPC is a mac mini and until I put Lion onto it it was marvellous. (Lion broke file sharing badly). A great system for an HTPC as it's tiny, very quiet and doesn't use much power.

Yes one is on my wish list for media machine, to replace my aging headless MacBook pro.
Native HDMI output, IR remote support, with a magic trackpad, perfect for on the couch!

Cheers,
Joseph
