Armageddon here on top of Wellington hill and rather scary. The house feels as if it will take off and being a Lockwood the creaking noise as it moves is deafening. South facing window now has a constant spritz of water out of the corner where the rubbers shrunk. Stuffed it with material for now. At least we are not sliding down the hill...yet. Haven’t felt a storm like this in years.

Hamilton is doing well so far. Unfortunately these events will now become a more common occurrence due to global warming.

Do whatever you want to do man.

We're in a somewhat sheltered spot in Wellington northern suburbs, the house to the south shelters us a bit. It's a bit wet and windy but nothing too extreme so far. We've just closed the front door as it was blowing about a bit - had it open to get the paint smell out.

Said to be gusting to 130km but feels more like the Wahine up here. Always wanted to have an anemometer but it would be impossible to secure it.

I wish my kickstarter weather station had arrived for this.

We live close to the top of a ride in new Windsor, Auckland, I too would love to know the real wind speed, I am amazed that tress can flex so much and not break.

We are getting some massive gusts of wind, well over 60 knots I would say. Windows are creaking at times, luckily we have double glazing.

Go to here and scroll around the map to find the closest station to where you're located.

Our large overhead gable windows are single pane which was the norm when built. I can’t bear watching the flex. The door that faces SW is being sucked outward by the wind and you can see it pulling from the frame and feel the wind seep in. Praying the hinges hold. I reassure myself by watching the house next door which is a flimsy build and is still standing

Just had a gust in Rotorua that slammed my window shut and broke the glass, dog not impressed he was asleep on the floor under it.

Wind easing in South Auckland and a 2 hour power outage over lunchtime over.

Vector seem to be very shy about power outages their map is difficult to use and with limited zoom out.

Seemed very slow to get info up.

Counties power same type of map as Vector had a few years back,
starts up zoomed out to see that outages are widespread so don't expect too much too soon etc.

Instantly shows info and then you can zoom in mostly you don't need to.

Out here in the bundu of the Wairarapa we have become something akin to the East Anglian fens...

There is so much water sitting on the land we look out over that a hovercraft would probably be more useful than a car.

Was windy today on Auckland North Shore but nothing special. It still managed to blow over part of a large tree though. Bit annoying as I last another part of it the last time the wind blow briskly.

Mother Neb's place has huge floor-to-ceiling bay windows, I remember as a kid being nervous about how much they bowed in and out during storms. Those things moved a lot. Since they've survived decades of this type of treatment I think you'll be safe with yours.

We had weather in the weekend.

Was very weathery.

I had to drive on the Auckland Motorway system towards the tail end of it. Wasn't pleasant.
