I am trying to buy some parts from electronic supply company to build a prototype circuit, an idea which could become something. The website indicated that they have several items in stock which could take over a week. So far nothing has been received after a month and I was told by email it was delivered. The customer support does not respond to any of my email. I really lost it with bad service from companies over here. I already had it with Orcon and now Farnell. What the hell is going on?

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences, but I must say that I find the companies 'over here' much, much better on the whole than they were 'over there' - the UK in my case.

Quite true, customer service in the UK is generally very poor compared to NZ. The worst is restaurants, having to tip and getting worse service is the icing on the cake so to speak.

I haven't had any bad experience with Farnell in UK. The only company (not restaurants or shops) that I made a big fuss in the UK was Vodefone. I contacted Ofcom by email to deal with the issue and got a 40 pound credit from Vodafone. I do agree there are some shops and restuarants in the UK that provide a poor quality of service but they mostly occur in the large cities and dodgy towns in the UK. As for Farnell in NZ, I rang them up instead of waiting for an email and they did actually managed to find my order which was still sitting in the stores. A bit of a cockup in their side. So much for the "stock available" feature in their site when it doesn't actually work. It doesn't take nearly a month to deliver a part when it is in stock.
