"10 mins" to add a card is not real. Still waiting.

It appears my phone is supported on Spark, but not 2Degrees or Vodafone.

Why is that?

Ok finally added. Once in the app there is another massive delay to get the card in there. Then I have to go into asb fast net desktop to put a pin on it. Problem is in there they just show as semble visa and 4 random numbers so I have no clue what card I am pinning so they are just the same for now.

All up full of hassle waiting and more hassle so I'm not going to bother getting spark Sims.

I did pay for some stuff at kmart with it and the new pin fine but failing to see how it's easier than a piece of plastic which doesn't require unlocking or 5 digit passwords etc.

I'm assuming you your handset is only officially supported by Spark, rather than being a model that's sold by all networks.

It probably works for all - but perhaps the telcos are only listing the models they sell now/sold before instead of listing models available only through others?

That's correct i.e. A Semble supported device from Voda should work on Spark and vice versa. Device support however is best efforts if we didn't originally supply the handset.

Yeah, looks like ASB were having problems. I've seen several signups with both ASB and BNZ that have been seamless..
In any case - I bet its a lot easier than getting/waiting for a plastic card - having gone through that process recently I think the wait for a Semble card is trivial. But then, thats just my opinion and you have a right to yours.

P.S. if you set your payment card to "Always on" you do not need unlocking and you do not need to enter a 5-digit password. Just take out of your pocket and pay.

Also you can set the "security code" to "off" if you still want to select cards on the fly but dont want the hassle of a 5-digit code.
I personally do this as its handy, and I use an app called "Finger Security" to prevent launch of the app without a finger swipe. Works for me.

Did you actually get a message preventing you using it due to being rooted? Or are you just guessing?

I was going by the post by jaidevp on the page prior to my post. I read it as rooted or modded with a custom rom would be checked and rejected by the semble app. So not guessing but perhaps misunderstanding a previous post. My bank is not included in the launch institutions so I couldn't test it even if I wanted to.
Certainly from what I have read of some of the similar schemes running overseas root access is one of the first things checked for. If apps like TVNZ On Demand checks and rejects root, you can just about guarantee Semble would.

Same situation. Sony Z1 on 2degrees.

Says only Spark supports the Z1 on Semble site, but when I try and install the App, only the Vodafone App says its compatible with the Z1 (but the Z1 is not listed on Semble site as compatible for Vodafone).

I assume the Vodafone App wont work with a 2degrees Semble SIM?

I am not holding much hope for public uptake in the near future with this randomness.

Semble app does check for root and rejects as supposed above.
