Women now have so many protections in employment law that they don’t need to be hiding in bathrooms or feeling they are victims. Certainly a lot more protections than when I was navigating life in a world full of men in charge.

That particular experience occurred in Qatar. There certainly is some protection in law there. There are also some difficulties.

Women are protected from rape by law in New Zealand. It still happens.

Certainly sexual harassment is less acceptable than it was but it still happens and gets fobbed off as “it’s just a joke.”

Looks like you're going to get your wish. Well, sort of.

Jesus, since when does a man with a trail of unwanted sexual advances inappropriately touch a coworker then get to control the narrative by suggesting his own “story of events” to hide his actions?

No wonder more women don’t bother with allegations if their abuser is personally allowed to control the narrative.

Pathetic showing of an utter lack of moral compass by TVNZ.

Oh but @Eva888 wants to hear "his side of the story", hence why I posted the link.

Thank you. Always good to know both sides of a story.

He now says he's taking his employer to court, although I'm not sure on what grounds he would prevail, especially as this story indicates that he told TVNZ what to say when they said it was a "family emergency".

Yeah, that fella is really adamant that he's in the right! 😆 I only see him succeeding in his claim if there was some sort of procedural issue.

Its always procedural issues, - You can't litigate a break down in an employment relationship,

But you can litigate what steps you believe they didn't take while pushing you out the door.

I bet TVNZ are living to regret the day they hired this clown now (and his since-departed manager, who just gave him the job, no questions asked).

I still don't get what Santamaria is hoping to achieve by requesting all this information - he already admitted to touching his colleague inappropriately, so there's no "truth" or "coverup" hiding out there. What is seeking? He won't get his old job back, not in a million years.
