hellonearthisman: HN have said that if that can't get the HP model, they will get one of equal spec.
Atom N280 (not a N270), 10.1", 1GB ram, 160GB HDD - might hear this week,
as the HN warehouse is open after seasonal break.
I am now thinking I may sell it after I get it. Initially I liked the idea of a tiny computer I could take with me, however the reviews for it are mixed, and I am wondering how practicle it really is, and I have read that the battery life is only about 2-3 hours, where my current notebook is 5 hours. Apparently the specs on the netbook make it actually slower than my 4-5 year old notebook, which struggles under windows XP and office 2007. Also the verticle screen size is not as long as the conventional netbook screen size, making video watching more difficult. I may instead put the money towards a apple iSlate, or a proper notebook, which is also portable, really depends what is announced by Apple. I expect netbooks are however fine for uni students, to type notes during lectures, and using in cafes for email when travelling. I don't know, I have mixed feeling about it, I think I will need to give it a good trial. I use a ipod touch when travelling over wifi, and that may almost do as much for me as this particular netbook.

richms: but what do you have to lose out on to put the braodcom card into the computer? I would want a hspa card as well, so I am guessing there are not enough slots for everything.
5loth: received a call from HN, said they have sourced an Asus with the same specs, delivery expected first week of Feb.
