This has been my storage for the past year as I sold my PC for a PS3... (i know i know...)

Im terrified of losing information on the drive (40gb+ of family photos and videos) so a small server with a copy of this content would be a huge relief for me - the wife would kill me if the external drive fails and Ive got no decent backup

Currently have a small 1TB mybook world edition NAS, which has done the job fine, but very close to capacity... a new toy would be very nice.

I am running an age old Compaq Proliant ML350 that has seen better days, and at my age, it is not easy to move (weighs a ton), and is not exactly energy efficient.

It would be so nice to retire my current server, and replace it with an HP Microserver, plus right now I could really use a good pick me up that could be supplied by actually winning something ;-)

Our not for profit organization could make really good use of this server - we need to run a super secure database mirrored in different parts of NZ and this would be a God send.

I have an old PC that I am using as a home server. It's an AMD core two duo with 4gb of RAM. I have 4HDDs with over 3tb of data. It runs Windows XP and I am hoping to getting something that works better as a Home Server.

Im Running an ollllld PIII with 2gb of ram and a bunch of SCSI disk as a main file server serving 2 laptops, 2 desktops and one media player. it is also running DHCP/DNS and routing all internet traffic via it so i can make sure my isp's usage meter is working right

My home "server" is an approx. 7-year-old HP small form factor PC, running Debian Linux. It was originally a MythTV box, but has been superseded in that role due to the advent of digital TV broadcasts, so it's now pretty much just a repository for photos and videos.

My redundancy "system" consists of periodically copying all the files to other locations.

As unbelievably reliable as my set up has been so far, it would be great to have a proper server with a bit more resilience!

Wow I've been wanting one of these for a while to replace our aging NAS appliance with a dogdy wire in the power supply. One of these with Windows 2011 Essentials would allow us better access to files and the ability to properly and easily back them up.

A nice small file server would be great. We don't have a file server at the moment, and have to turn on at least one of the PCs whenever we want to watch or install.

Same boat as a bunch of others here - using a laptop with external HD mainly to play music directly to amp or stream it with shoutcast to Android over wifi (poor man's version of airport express in every room :D)

A server would probably be turned into an ESXi server or similar to do dev and testing on as well as running a couple of active servers thanks to a static IP address at home...
