"Is the pain of resetting passwords finally over?"

The answer is so obviously no.

Focus Live: Tramper Darren Myers’ body found in Tararua Rangers.

The Tararua Rangers sounds more like a soccer team.

That headline has been up since 2pm yesterday, and still not corrected.

Love the paradox between "Focus live" and "body found".

Not Sure Who to laugh at more the NZH for claiming this as success of the suckers who have actually part with cash.

The Herald does have unique local content and some excellent long form investigations from time time. It does not surprise me many people find this entirely worthwhile.

Overnight temperatures drop as low as -7C in south and -4C in north.

Thst is the summary on the homepage. Wow, that is huge. Except its not. The main centres down south are -3, big deal. Hamilton was -1, not odd. The -7 is where no one lives and is also not odd. Taupo was cold not odd.

The summary should be Normal Winter conditions today, or preferably no need for the article

Today's weep for humanity is courtesy of Slashdot.

Google published a long explanation of how lyrics in Search work

This "long" explanation is six paragraphs, including the summary.

From Stuff:

Kiwi retailers' 52% mark-up

10:23 AM  NZ shops typically sell goods for just over twice the price they buy them for.

------------------

Isn't 52% Mark-Up 33ish % profit?

Not 50%! etc! Not a doubling of the buy price!

This one's not a headline, but...

Earlier this week, an article in the Whakatane Beacon described a man that got swept out to sea. He was at Ohiwa and needed to get to Ohope; a walk of tens of km around the Ohiwa Harbour. After looking at Google Maps on his phone, he concluded that he could save a huge amount of time by swimming the couple of hundred metres across the channel, which ended in disaster (although he was rescued and is apparently fine now).

Fast-forward to today, when the story appeared in the Bay of Plenty Times. It's been embellished significantly, to the point where Google Maps supposedly suggested that he swim!

Tall tales get taller over time and retelling.
Next it'll be a Click Bait version.
"Google Maps suggests swimming is faster, you won't believe what happened next...."
