Yesterday the local Covid website said we had 7 new cases, for a total of 21. Today it says 6 new cases, for a total of 31?!

My district (Whakatane) has jumped from 21 to 31 active cases even though only 6 new ones are listed.
Of course, in the grand scheme of things a discrepancy of 4 people isn't a big issue.
Probably cases originally reported in districts where they were tested and now counted under district of residence.

I pre-ordered a game several months ago, which is out today. The site said "Pre-order now for delivery on the release date". I've been looking forward to it and have taken the afternoon off work and plan to play it over the weekend.
A few days ago I got an email about it, which again mentioned that it would be delivered on release date. Additionally I have a subscription with the retailer which gives me a free upgrade to Saturday delivery.
So I was quite surprised and annoyed to find that they only bothered to ship it this morning via standard delivery, with an ETA of Monday!
Why Windows seems too find it necessary to start up some external HDDs when I just click on a new email to read it.

Journeyman:Russian tank runs over Ukrainian civilian car; driver survives
Russian tank drivers have a long history of doing this, they practically ran it as a sport during WWII.
And that's not a UL, there are endless eyewitness reports of this happening at the time. Having said that, this seems more an exception, look at the story of the Ukrainian tank man for a counterexample.
What's the "Ukrainian tank man" story?

Well, it turned up today, so not as bad as it could've been.
I may or may not be getting a partial refund; the website says something like "if there was a thing saying "guaranteed release date delivery" when you ordered" but since I ordered several months ago I have no idea whether it was there at the time and there doesn't seem to be a way to tell after the fact!
