Yeah, make some shit up. Always a good way to deal with your boss. Actually true, if he's a PHB. (For the non-engineers, that's a Dilbert reference).

New annoyance: The profanity filter is perfectly happy with the post above, yet blocks links to "The Daily W T F" because the URL contains a "bad word"!

Geektastic: The fact that the government has its cake and eats it.

It treats a couple as two separate people for tax. If you want pensions, student support or benefits you're suddenly a couple and expected to live off one another!

There was talk about combining incomes for tax purposes a few years back.  I guess it has been forgotten or is in a range of things being looked at

Probably need a change of government for it to be looked at as current government is more about taking it and then deciding if you get any of it back.

Ah, it's all perfectly logical. The government has to do that for consistency.

In both cases, it does that so you don't get an advantage. Glad I could clear that up.

Can't discriminate on marital status, so married or de facto or whatever have to be treated the same as single people.

Mine's just a big monitor for Britcom DVDs and occasional streaming.

Assuming you mean the dross on FTA prime time?
Must be popular with some demographic otherwise it wouldn't be screened.
Or some marketing wonk is filling in some dodgy spreadsheet cells because the supposed demographic are not primarily FTA consumers.

Something smells, and it ain't my socks...

Do you work on Transmission Gully? 😉

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

near vegative state in retirement homes is the view base for one news from what I have seen when at those places.

Also boomers watch it out of habit, think that its keeping them informed because when they were young the idea of seeing pictures on the TV from overseas at 6pm was amaaaaaazing so they made a ritual out of stopping doing what they are doing and sitting down and watching it, then they keep going with whatever is on after it.

That assumes they're actually capable of lifting it all the way to their ear...
