Australian "Gender Reveal" Stunt Goes Horribly Wrong as Car Bursts into Flames

With the trend of having gender reveal parties becoming popular, people have started coming up with innovative ways to disclose the gender of the unborn child.

A gender reveal party in Australia's Gold Coast went horribly wrong when the car, spewing blue smoke, indicating it was a boy, caught fire...

Remember you can't be tacky, unless you have bad taste AND spend lots of money to show it. Massive consumption of beer always recommended for such displays.

Stuff homepage is serving a trashy looking adv for a wifi booster:

https://www.thegadgetreviewguy.com/au/pre-1.html

Go to the site and checkout it serves notifications with names of people who are buying right now. Advertiser breaking NZ's privacy laws or misleading fake notifications or both. Ad curation fail.

These are not real feedback or people buying. That site is just a fake that is made to look like news. The product is crap.

Just change "au" in the URL for UK and you will see it with a UK map and wording.

Stuff (and Metservice) is at the low range of adverts and they run low quality ads without any concern for the product being offered. I would not allow those ads here - and if I see it I block.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Reckon if we all chip in we might be able to buy it and set about making it worth reading?  :-p

Lotsa millions

Channel9 Australia bought Stuff sort of by accident when they bought Fairfax Australia.
What they really wanted was the Australian Real Estate online sales powerhouse that is www.domain.com.au. They appear to have thought that the rest of the Fairfax Australia print and radio assets were a bit meh, but not un-useful. My guess is that a lot of it, whilst not officially for sale, would be let go in an instant if someone who is able to buy came along.

Stuff, not so much.
They have been trying to offload it but there are no buyers - or no buyers within a bull's roar of the sort of price they want.
IIRC they floated the idea of selling off the print assets separately, but no takers.

This story on its own isn't remarkable.  However this has been going on for weeks - an ongoing series of anecdotes / stories arguing the case for decisions to not breast feed.

Makes me wonder if some think-tank funded by the dairy industry and/or hard-right economists is collating stories for Stuff, or some staffer is on a crusade of some kind.

It's 39 C, with humidity feels like 46.

At 40-41 outside, heat stroke is likely.

I assume this one is in the series. Looks good to me and well balanced and not an anti article.

That's fine. The other articles were personal anecdotes that read like "I had 1001 reasons to give up - so don't shame me".

To be fair, I suppose "shaming" people for whatever reason is probably the root cause - and Stuff has improved somewhat since limiting and moderating their "comments" section.

"Young man dies in sleep"

What next?

"Woman dies walking in morning"?

Sure, it's tragic for those knew him. However it's not really news.
