On that note, with the season coming up, does anyone know where to find these?

I had never considered the internal workings of a pinball machine before!

Spent time replacing solenoids in a couple as well as repairing the coin counters and even some repairs on a Jukebox.

The 919 Tribute Tour: On-board record lap, Nordschleife. - YouTube

The driver, Timo Bernhard, must be an alien. No human can drive like this.

At the risk of being a terminal old fart, the progress in the last 52 years has been underwhelming.

In 1971, I was driving a competition car at 210 kph and my (1300 cc) street car at 160 (on remote motorways near Montreal).
Speed limits were 70 mph on the motorways - not that anyone obeyed them out in the countryside.
I remember being super impressed, that year. when the LeMans 917's hit near to 400 kph.

We're now 52 years on - the same distance that 917 was from a 1919 Model A Ford...
We haven't made much progress.

Most modern motorsport these days is run under regulations designed to restrict top speed so most advances made in the last 50yrs has been to increase average speed. The mechanical grip they have these days is so immense they corner so much faster than older cars.

I used to collect these. Man there are so heavy! It took 4 men to move the old mechanical ones.

Perhaps surpassing it in complexity are pre-digital juke boxes that play both sides of a vinyl records, by flipping it.

We are getting a bit off topic here but just to add in terms of absolute speed road cars have probably advanced further than race cars.

There is a video of a Bugatti  Chiron doing over 500kph on the VW test track. Thats a road car not a Le Mans racer. And another Bugatti doing over 400kph on a German Autobahn. That's the same speed as the 917 in a road car that weighs 2 tons.

Awesome vid for BST's latest single :)

Was lucky enough to be invited along to some of the filming including Charlies jumps from the Sky Tower :)

@Wakrak:

Playing here a fair bit lately also. Only discovered their music a month or three back on Tidal. Love Ego Death with Steve Vai (whom I was lucky enough to see live in Auckland in 2012 at a G3 gig with Joe Satriani and Steve Lukather).

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.
