to be honest our countdown has had empty shelves , mainly coke and chips, for the last 3-4 months, the pak n save has been fine , same as new world.

I could write an essay on why this is the case but it would be crossing boundaries between work and personal that I shouldn't go near.

Then that becomes a personal choice.

But if Pak n Save (as an example) buys from Moshims, and Moshims also sets up at Farmers Markets, you're not going to get the same price.

Does anyone know who the Supermarkets get there produce from / who the wholesaler is ?

and while you say that for some people its not, they dont have the time or the "markets" arent open when they are avalible to shop.

I dont mind if its slightly more expensive at the supermarket but when its double or triple the markets....

a supermarket probably sells a lot more produce than a market too.

I would like to shop in markets more but unfortunately for me, convenience outweighs price. To a point at least anyway.

What irks me more is the freshness. That $8 cauliflower at the supermarket goes brown in 3 days. The $4 cauliflower from the market is still fresh 6-7 days later.

Argh. Software bugs again. The "find in files" feature in Visual Studio 2022 refuses to work in a specific project (it just happily tells me that it's searched 0 files). Other projects work fine, and the 'bad' project works fine in Visual Studio 2019. No idea what's going wrong here...

I am sick and tired of the name suppression laws and how they are applied in our justice system.

Oh I am a sport's person or entertainer (in this case) or a high profile business man I deserve name suppression.

I guess the obvious question here is why do you want to know? Apart from that, it is usually pretty easy to find out if you are determined and willing to spend some time. I used to do this as a hobby just for my own personal satisfaction and could nearly always get there in the end. Most of the time the names didn't mean anything to me. It was like hunters nailing their prey with a camera instead of a big bad bang stick.

Yeah easy to find out their name.

I am just annoyed how it is applied with what appears to be preferential treatment. I thought there used to be a really high bar for it but it seems if you are somebody of importance it seems they think that have the automatic right to it.

not trying to stir, but they are innocent people, so why would they want their names dragged through the court of public opinion.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

In Holland everyone accused always has automatic name suppression. This is also true in other European countries. Those arrested are referred to only by first name and last initial throughout the entire process, whether found guilty or not. Everyone is treated the same.

This has been going on for years as Microsoft focuses on adding bling at the expense of maintenance. I've had bugs, as in regressions, "worked in VS 201x but stopped working in 201y", in VS open for years that never get fixed. I'm lucky enough that I can keep using very old versions for development and only do release builds in the latest version.

Which also keeps showing me how much of an improvement older versions are on their successors.

Yup, in many European countries it's standard practice to see anyone who's accused of something referred to in print only by first name and initial. So when you see "Hermann G" or "Heinrich H" in a tabloid story you have no idea who's really being referred to.

Being told a survey report was done and would be sent by COB. Nothing sent through.

Given that many businesses have so many people out with omicron that they're being staffed by the owner's mum and her elderly poodle Colin, it's not that surprising that reports and quotes are slowed down...

Yeah nah. We have 400 cases per day in a country of 10 million. The Cron isn’t such a big problem here.
