I'm not sure if this makes me smile or really annoyed.

Our city council has replaced a stretch of footpath. They helpfully put some new dirt in (and grass seed) for a mowing strip beside the footpath:

This mowing strip is 13 cm wide:

My new bicycle has arrived, a fold up E-Bike with fat tyres. My pain levels are now between 3/10 to 7/10 and with the help of pain relief I am walking again somewhat unbalanced but on my feet. Now to build up to be able to ride my bike by spring. It is sitting in my office as a constant motivator.  This all makes me smile.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Shopping at Smith City and found a Lawnmaster weed eater cordless for $99 and it came with the battery and charger pack, a value of $450. It had been returned as it was not the one the customer wanted, so used a couple of times. Good buy i thought, so i took it home charged it up and the cord wouldnt spin, so took it back as they said it was still under warranty so they sent it off to get fixed and i picked it up today and found it was a brand new weed eater, they  just replaced it. i got a brand new weed eater , battery and charger for $99. 😀

Feeling slightly annoyed at New World to be told they aren't accepting my rewards card, began to ask why, and she cut me off and said with a smile.. "because sir, that's a countdown card".

Today is the 100th birthday of the father of a very good chum of mine from university.

Dickie is a lovely man and must be the luckiest person I have ever met. He flew as a Mosquito pilot with 605 Squadron in the second war, primarily doing very dangerous work over the continent. He survived that AND lived to be 100! That is pretty lucky.

They're having a socially distanced afternoon tea in the Village Hall to celebrate.

"DFC - Flight Lieutenant William Arthur Bird" - This officer has completed a very large number of sorties, involving attacks on airfields, locomotives and other targets. He has displayed skill and courage of a high order, setting an excellent example. In the course of his activities, Flight Lieutenant Bird has destroyed one and damaged several more enemy aircraft. He has also inflicted damage on very many locomotives."

A few days after his award Dickie had completed his tour of operations, and together with his navigator Les Hodder had completed over 60 sorties with the Squadron."

Got managed to install 9+2 drives + 2x 10G NICs in a Fractal Node 403 server shoe box without any issues. Very compact with efficient cooling, quiet and highly reliable.

Isn't 9+2 drives 11 drives?

Yesnoyes. The two are mirrored rear outside USB-Flash Boot "drives" and I refused to count them as "in" the box.
