Not to clutter up the Annoy thread with smiles, but the mouse trap is currently running at a 100% success rate. Now the hard question: Was that the sole resident mouse or am I going to catch more?

It's a serial mouse, you'll catch the sole resident mouse at least half a dozen times.

I ordered a new mouse a couple of days ago, as the scroll wheel on my current one is literally beginning to fall to pieces. I received a new one last night but it seems there was a mix-up. Today I need to dig around in the garage and find my traps...

Have you tried Cheese Mover 2.0?

2 things annoying me at the moment:

1. When companies change the formula in a favourite food. It was a favourite for a reason.

This one in particular is Olivani spread. It no longer melts into hot toast like butter. It sits like a slimy film atop the toast. Unpleasant and unappetising.

2. The proliferation of lawlessness right now. Our local FB page (suburban Auckland) is just a constant feed of "my house was broken into", "my car was stolen", "there were two strange men with torches wandering around my property late at night" etc.

It's annoying, it's quite scary for many and it means I have just had to order a camera for the first time ever - I've lived here for over 20 years and half the time the security lights didn't even work...and that didn't bother me. Now it does.

Added to that, the central city is a dangerous wasteland and people are generally more aggressive than they have ever been in the past. It's not great.

It's not just in the cities either. Someone ram-raided a dairy here in Whakatane and stole... one ice block. All that damage to take an inconsequential product.

USPS parcel originating from the US, leaving the US via JFK and landing in Tokyo and departing Tokyo on 7 April (to who knows where) and no status since then.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

There is a correlation between proper police work, proper judicial sentencing and crime.

At the moment it rather feels like it’s possible to commit low level crime and stand almost no chance of being prosecuted and, in the unlikely event you are, no chance of significantly unpleasant consequences.

I chased a supplier who’d sent me something via USPS almost 3 months ago of which there is no sign and no updated tracking. They followed up and were told by USPS to resend it using a more expensive service if they wanted to be sure it would arrive!

Just got notified it left Japan today :-)  I wonder where the next stop is going to be? Should get frequent flier miles :-)

My money is on Sydney next. Or maybe Hawaii. I once had a package that went US - Hawaii - Japan - Hawaii - Japan - Sydney - Auckland.

Would have been an interesting trip for said package.

People who arrive at a full cafe, stand behind a queue of other four people and send their kid to hog the only table seemingly available at that moment.

Quidquid latine dictum, altum videtur.

(That Latin for Everyday Occasions is very useful!).
