So where does this particular stupidity go? Politics? The dumb-dumb thread? Annoyances? Love? Oops, we don't have that last one here. Maybe we should. I guess *** is as appropriate as any.
Malaysia, you should be ashamed of yourself. You used to be a pleasant, laid back, tolerant, multicultural example of Muslim hospitality. Now you just seem silly, and very afraid of your gay side! You are definitely overcompensating when the colour of a watch send you into a moral panic.
Edit: I should have also mentioned Lebanon. They have become a joke of a country but banning Barbie for being gay-friendly is just pathetic.

and attach a long handle to it so you can use it safely rather than risking your fingers each time. The name also seems straightforward, just remove the "fist" bit. Wonder why no-one's done that before?

“It has suggested making deadly chlorine gas or, as the Savey Meal-bot calls it, ‘aromatic water mix.’”

Savey Meat-bot saves you money at PaknSave, by ending your existence ?
You won't be visiting PaknSave, money saved, job well done.
Though the Bot was given a list of ingredients that make said gas by the customer trying it on, so perhaps unfair.
I saw that one a couple of days ago. I'm in two minds about it: if people put bleach etc. in their "pantry list" then that'll "force" the system to make use of it. On the other hand, the developers should have realised by now that people do silly things with websites/apps.

Just because they can, doesn't mean they should, but because they can, they will.
Pretty much rule number one of developing any UI. Protect the users from themselves.

If it's too dumb to know that bleach isn't a food then it'll also be too dumb to know that you shouldn't provide a gluten-containing recipe to someone with coeliac or a nut recipe to someone with a fatal nut allergy. More generally, whoever thought that telling people to mix up whatever a GNN hallucinates and eating it would be a good idea?
More generally, pretty good human-curated reverse-recipe sites have been around for more than a decade, why would you use a GNN to do this apart from someone in Mgt. overdosing on "AI" cool-aid?

Counterpoint. If someone is too dumb to know if that an AI bot suggests cooking with bleach, it's not a good idea, perhaps we shouldn't protect them from themselves.
I'm trying to remember what I was watching the other day when the line "it's too safe to be stupid these days" came up...

Ok that's an exaggeration. But the GPT craze has made it very easy to evaluate management's data literacy. By this I mean seeing who indulges in magical thinking and who stays grounded in reality. I've been surprised - it's not always who you expect.
Just saw this story about a local crypto-exchange on the NZH website:
“Furious customers of Auckland-based cryptocurrency exchange Dasset say they are unable to access their funds - and the firm is not responding to complaints.
Its 16 members (and counting) say they have been locked out of accounts holding between $3,000 and $40,000.
One customer who has been unable to withdraw $40,000 after three months of trying told the Herald she was the mother of two young boys.
“This was our entire life savings, [which] we were counting on, and now we are facing a very dire situation,” she said.”
My Whiskey Tango on this is “what was this one customer thinking?”. If her story is true, why on earth would you 1. put your entire life savings into crypto and 2. entrust the crypto to a very small exchange in 3. a very small country?
Fools and their money …..
Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.
