Our current security system is a non-working FAI one, I've replaced it with this guy in the meantime, who I made especially to guard my studio.

Into Xbox, knitting, spinning yarn, and my family. Love my Android smartphone!
I use Sighthound and PoE IP Cameras

I have a standard home alarm system, plus my gangster guard dog:

1 Fake security camera (would work if I plugged it in and connected it to something)
1 large black dog
1 small but yappy brown dog
None of these deterred someone from stealing my trailer last year :(
Bosch security system, with remote controls (arm/disarm, arm zone/disarm zone) and audio beep outside
We have a normal house alarm, its ok but to be honest we probably don't need it most of the time...

Although a camera to catch someone stealing the dog might be handy :-)
We have a Micron system but... it doesn't cut the mustard.
I have a great response but the page reloaded and I lost it all and I don't have the energy to retype it all so just posting the truth. I really do need a better alarm and monitor though as our first baby due in 7 weeks and the peace of mind would be amazing!

Sideface
I have 3 children who drive most people away. And a cat.
And failing that, there's the wife.
No system at the moment so this would be great
We don't have a dog so I can't do a cool, award-winning picture (tho we do have a grumpy sheep that bunts!).
Jokes aside, we do have a monitored alarm system but it is "dumb". As in, if it goes off (and it has always been a false alarm) the alarm folks ring us first. By this time, of course, an burglar would be long gone. This costs $35 a month, and relies on a phone line, which we'd like to get rid of ($) and change to VOIP BUT can't (apparently) because of the alarm issue. We also want to go to a system where we can SEE what's going on ... not relying on some guys sitting in an office 10km away ...

Our security system involves a couple of Alpacas! A bit hard to access remotely :)
