I just watched Australia a couple of days ago, and I was very disappointed. So superficial and full of cliches, the complete opposite of what I expected.

I saw a South Korean (I think) film last night, it`s a crime thriller, I like those. It`s English title is `The Chaser`. It is sheer class.

Watchmen: Incredible, a masterpiece of cinema.  Can't say much more than that except go and see it!

Max Payne... 5/10 I'd say.

Didnt take my xbmc pc to the gf's last weekend so had to step foot in blockbuster.. good god its been some years.. anyways being that it had rained constantly all day the shelves were bare.. Managed to find a couple of good movies id never heard of:

Clubbed: A brit action/comedy, along the lines of a guy ritchie film (if you like his films, you should go out and get this). Very well done, good story line delivered by good acting. Oh and its based on true events which i didnt realise till the end.

Stop Loss: Good start, has a dull middle section but still a decent movie. Good line up of actors.

Zach & Miri Make a Porno.... 8/10... HILARIOUS if you like absolutely bottom-of-the-gutter, filthy porno-comedy. Features "Jay" of Jay & Silent Bob fame... between him and Seth Rogen, I was nearly in tears at parts.

My very metal Doctor Who theme

I agree, Zack and Miri had me in stictes. Dutch Runner, anyone?

City of Ember is another one I've watched. Very cool movie for a 'kids' movie. Kind of feels like a cross of Fallout 3 and Bioshock.

Zack and Miri make a porno... Not as funny as we thought it would be. Lucky I paid US$3.99 on iTunes Movie instead of paying two full tickets at the movies.

Transformers , Was actually quite good if a little made for the kids and rather unrealistic.

And the scene from Ghostbusters where stay puff marshmallow man gets turned into sludge.

I haven't watched recently, but today I purchased and downloaded The Exorcist from iTunes Movies. I used to have it on DVD, someone borrowed it and never returned - the same person who took my Godfather box set (which is also on iTunes so I might as well buy it tomorrow).

Hmmmm. Unless you know any other legal downoad service in New Zealand?

It is more convenient than going to a store, it is fully digtal and we all have to live with its stupid DRM anyway...

No Arguements there, iTunes has it sorted, the only problem for me is all the data it chews through, and for that reason i still prefer the video shop. Good ol United Video

Went to the movies twice over the weekend, one to keep the missus happy and one for me..

First of all a little rant! (i was going to open a thread on it but i don't think its necessary) Who has noticed CAP Codes when in the cinema? Im talking about those annoying little dots that are randomly put through the movie. My god they are irritating!! I wouldn't say it ruined the movie for me but it sure was noticeable and distracting!
Apparently not everyone sees them (my gf didn't notice them at all and wondered if i was alright when i quizzed her about it after the movie! Wink) Anyway if you have no idea what im talking about look here

Slumdog Millionaire: Not much to say about this one, yes its good, and yes it deserves its awards.. go see it if you haven't already.

Twilight: I really didn't want to see this one, vampire high school romance is not up there on genres that i enjoy. But seeing that Ema has read three of the four books in all of three weeks (these are seriously big books!) i thought i could bare through it as she really wanted to see it. Well it was better than i expected (except for the cap codes!), i actually quite enjoyed it. Funny thing was that Ema didn't! apparently it really doesn't do justice to the books but what movie ever has i guess.. now she is trying to get me to read the books.. i think not!

paradoxsm:  and rather unrealistic.

Umm, hello? Giant shapeshifting robots from another galaxy - how realistic were you wanting? ;-)
