Anyhoo, the springs were 'coming' , 'almost there' , 'hang on' for months until the sale expired. I filed a dispute and I got my 5 dollars back.

Of course what turns up two days later but some springs in a bag.

Yanwen? Had that with them a few times, twice I disputed and then offered to pay when the item turned up unexpectedly a month or so later but they said don't worry about it, other times when it's low-value I didn't dispute in the hope that it'd turn up eventually. That was some time ago, now I explicitly avoid anything that might end up with Yanwen for shipping, including Seller's Choice which is often Yanwen.

Sorry I didnt note that. Will it be in my order record?

The inconsistency on Ali is the worst thing about the service - some things turn up in two weeks , why can't they all do that?

The tracking info should show which carrier was used, but given what you've described it's almost certainly Yanwen, particularly if the tracking showed that it left China or arrived at destination at time X and then there was nothing for 1-2 months until it suddenly turned up at your door.

Now and then Amazon AU stuff up(?) by allowing you to have certain items delivered for free when you spend $54 or more, despite being an excluded product every other day of the week.

September 30: Quilton 3 Ply Extra Thick Facial Tissues 24 boxes for AU$30ish delivered (I bought some Creative Pebble V2 speakers with it).

October 2: 90 rolls of Quilton 3 Ply Toilet Tissue for AU$41.58 delivered (took advantage of a recent $5 credit with $100 gift card purchase + subscribe & save).

That's a good deal (don't think yoiu can even get Quilton here anymore).

Would have cost them more in shipping than the bog roll is worth :)

A friend managed to get a lot of pepsimax delivered from amazon AU at no cost once. I have tried that since then and had no luck.

Everyone likes a bargain and I'm no greenie, eco-warrior but, assuming this was air-freighted from AU to NZ, it's not a particularly environmentally friendly way to avail oneself of bum-wipes, is it.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Have had three separate Aliexpress orders that took less than a week to arrive in the last few months.  This pleases me.  They all had a sticker saying it was set from Auckland, and they were all mainstream, small items.

Is there a chance they've established some sort of local warehouse/distribution centre, or have I just been lucky.  (In saying that, had a couple of other orders take in excess of two months.)

Normally it just means consolidated shipping, so it's re-stickered locally, but if it was only a week it may actually have been a local shipment. Can you see traces of any original addressing information under the sticker?

ASRock X300TM-ITX motherboard, ordered 13/11 delivered 22/11. Was pretty happy with that. Ordered a Thermalright AXP90-X36 on 20/11 and its already in Auckland, hopefully delivered early next week. Having a reasonable run with AliExpress at the moment.

Just got confirmation via tracking from a third party (not the actual carrier) of the "Arrived at destination country" issue that someone (richms?) pointed out a while back, the sequence went ... / Received by line-haul / Hand over to airline / Arrived at destination country / Hong Kong: Tracking number allocated / With the airline pending flight departure. So the "destination country" just means that it arrived at some destination where it was transferred to a new carrier.

Recently got new wiper blades for both the cars. Even got new rears which is indeed a rare thing. Worked out to about <$20 per car.
