Buying something and given a choice of US$7 for slow post or US$17 for DHL Express Courier.

Withing 8 hous there are already 9 Tracking Scans.

The parcel has already been cleared in Hong Kong (Originated from Shenzen - China)

(China distributor covers NZ)

I only ordered them last night! (2 x AirSpy Mini SDR Sticks - US$99 each)

Expected delivery by close of business on the 30th of this month.

Certainly worth the extra shipping cost so far.

Yep - still looks very stylish for a car that’s 36 years old.

In your other link, Jag must have been very tech-advanced to have had in-car GPS in the 70’s - I see the XJ has a ‘Map’ button on the dash. 😀

My uncle had one of these with the 1/2 vinyl roof (which apparently was posher than a full-anything) - I remember going to West Midlands Safari Park and the baboons ripping it off! He was less than impressed.

I had a SD1 in silver. First (and only) v8 and first automatic. Smoooth. Mostly worked fairly well but always looked terrific. Sold it when I got married. No comment.

I can just imagine pressing that button and a flap drops (silently) down and a white gloved hand appears holding candle in a silver holder to illuminate ones map, naturally printed on vellum.

Those West Midlands animals can be bastards with cars. A couple of years ago I drove a car borrowed from a friend to the top of Long Mynd, near Church Stretton. Got out to take some photos, leaving the driver’s window down and wild donkeys came over to the car and chewed up the vinyl capping on the inside of the door.

Latest update on my parcel from Shenzen - China:

Arrived in Auckland at 1930hrs tonight! Geez that is the fastest order from anywhere except Aussie to get to NZ that I have ever experienced.

(I hope DHL New Zealand don't spoil the delivery speed)

Less than 24 hours from making the order and already in New Zealand during a pandemic!

When I was on my OE flatting in London in the mid-1970s my Mum in Auckland would write me one of those old-fashioned aerogram letters and Dad would post it on his way to work on a Friday morning. Sometimes it would come through the letter slot in our front door in London around 9,00 am on a Monday morning - ‘first post’ - in those days London had two mail deliveries each day. Sure the NZ/UK time difference worked in our favour but could hardly believe it.
