Seems to be a slow down in Auckland again.

2 parcels in on Monday, through customs before noon and would normally expect them the next day
One arrived Wednesday, the other is still being sorted.

(also had an overnight parcel from Auckland hit operational failure this morning)

FYI:

I've had two parcels ordered through the USA warehouse. The speed was reasonably consistent - parcel appeared on my account the same day delivered by Fedex, paid for the parcel that evening and it was sent toward NZ the next morning (US time). Both parcels took 5 days to arrive in Auckland NZ, passed customs in a few hours and were delivered the next day (South Island).

Also, the online shipping rate calculator is near exact what they charge you so if you've got some accurate measurements of your parcel then you can get an accurate idea of the US->NZ shipping cost.

Just use that strawberrynet website they deliver straight to Nz and they are cheap as. No need for Youshop.

Has anyone imported printer toners using YouShop? Amazon doesn't ship direct and I can't see it classified as a dangerous item?

Unfortunately printer toners are prohibited using YouShop. See 'Toner' in listed items at

Why is that? I mean if it's because someone once tried to ship a bomb hidden inside a tonner - this could be true for any other packaged electronics, surely?

I believe it's explosive like any extremely fine powder when mixed with air, and a printer cartridge contains lots of it.

E
dit to add: this is also a good reason why you should not use an ordinary vacuum cleaner to clean up toner.

Thanks.

I've got shoes from Dc.com and it's been $30. Amazon using their larger than necessary boxes lol they probably put the shoe box inside a box haha :-P

Yikes and yikes.

I bought some sneakers from Amazon last year and the shipping was $20. Unfortunately the pair I want this time aren't shipped to NZ so YouShop seemed like the way to go, but if it could be as much as $30-40 I'm best to maybe look for a pair that will ship directly to NZ.

The shipping weight is 2lbs (900 grams) so that should be $23 via YS, but if Amazon uses a larger box that might hurt. FYI, the shoes I got last year came in the actual shoe box not anything larger. But I guess it's a risk.
