DarthKermit: I watched the first Underworld movie with the missus the other night. She'd never seen any of them before. She's keen to see more of 'em now.

It wasn't too violent or gory for her then?

The Underworld films are okay, but the first one was definitely the best one.  None of the follow ups really did justice to the overarching storyline.  The characters played by Bill Nighy and Michael Sheen always seemed more interesting than the apparent lead characters.  But then both actors are usually good in anything they do...

Nah, she didn't mind it. She had got out that new Hansel and Gretel movie, and she didn't mind the violence in that, so I thought that she might like Underworld.

I agree with you about the quality; I've seen I think either 2 or 3 of them. And they definately go downhill rather quickly. I think there are about 5 of them now?

Four in total. The first two had Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman, the third had Rhona Mitra, but Beckinsale donned the leather for the fourth one

Ah thanks, I've just seen two of them then. As for Kate in that leather outfit, she can come bite me anytime she wants. Wink

Those Underworld films are crap at its crappiest.

Kate B is the director's Mrs.

Hansel and Gretel Witchhunters 3/10

Jack the Giant Slayer 2/10

For a taste of real quality may I suggest Roger Corman's The Masque of the Red Death.

One of the best of Corman's Poe adaptations.

A solid 8/10

Was that Jack and the beanstalk really that bad? I haven't seen it, but the trailer looked kinda fun.

yes, this is one case where the trailer was way better than the movie.

Seconded!

I had the unfortunate experience of watching it on the way to Hong Kong!

Watched World War Z last night, I had wondered if the PG rating for a zombie movie would have worked against it... but it didn't.

The storyline on the other hand was too predictable.  5/10

Watched - The Avengers yesterday on Netflix, to be honest, don't see what the fuss is about.  I give it 5/10

I have no desire to go see Man of steel because it's another superman remake. Each to their own though.
