Superman - Man of Steel was pretty great I'd have to say 8/10 from me. Parts of it were below my expectation but it is a definite see in my opinion.

I got shanghaied into seeing this and it continues the trend of mediocre movie making.

Zero surprises except for one action (no spoilers).

Thinly fleshed, charisma-free characters.

Zero chemistry between them.

Flimsy story.

Poor storytelling, scenes lurch from bang to boom with not much in between.

Like a Peter Jackson epic, it's too long and could do with a functional editor.

And it didn't even look very good.

But worse is still to come !

There's a dreadful "documentary" called We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks.

This is nothing but a hatchet job on Wikileaks founder Assange while trying to bolster a defence for current guest of the US Govt, Bradley Manning.

This is straight from the Fox News school of journalism, there is no balance, footage is heavily edited.

Predictably Assange had nothing to do with the film and Wikileaks have posted a scene by scene rebuttal.

I can see where you're saying the editing and dialogue wasn't great, but I can't agree that it didn't look good. It looked bloody spectacular!

Man of Steel

9/10

Bloody loved it. The fights and action were out of this world awesome. CGI was brilliant. Cavill was perfect.

I haven't been to a movie theatre in a long time and have never seen a movie in 3d.
Went to Man of Steel in 3d last night and thought it was pretty good, probably 7/10.

I didn't think much of the 3d though so won't bother with that again.
The glasses just got annoying after a while and I used to wear glasses all the time!

I agree that the editing of the movie could have been better but I didn't think it was too long.

Ok so we went to Man of Steel as well, at a Hoyts. went to 2D as it only scored 19/35 for 3D.

Movie was OK, but I cannot believe the amount of trailers and ads we had to sit through watching, it was like half an hour, while some trailers would be fine there were dozens of full length ads some even played more than once.

It's ridiculous paying like half month's sky subscription and had to watch that many ads carpet bombing in loud volumes...

Watched Pulp Fiction on Blu-ray last night.

It sounded awful !

Like the whole film was re-processed in an echo chamber.

I have no interest in seeing any 3d movie that wasn't specifically shot in 3d, ie Avatar and The Hobbit, etc
