When the merge happens, it won't get any better, the difference is that some news at least will likely be behind a paywall. The paywalls are apparently already all setup and ready to go, but once there is no competition between the two media organisations in NZ, I imagine the switch will be flicked on fairly shortly afterwards. But who is actually going to pay for this drivel? I suppose we do still have radio NZ, but for how long as the government can cut funding if they wish to reduce their resources.

The big problem at the moment with NZ mainstream media shows is that there is now no longer any mainstream shows that grill the Politicians, like Holmes and Campbell did, where the general public can easily see it over dinner. But maybe they have come to the realization that politicians rarely answer the questions anyway, and are scripted by spin doctors?

Paywall to read the news online? Fine! So how 'bout they actually give us some real news instead of:

Who's prettiest, who's had plastic surgery this week, who's best and worst dressed, which celebrity's dog caught an STD, which batchelorette did whatever to whomever, Mrs Mavis Ramsbottom's cat Tiddles stuck up tree for three days, who's most popular, this mystery woman seen on alblack's arm, is cute kid the next Rembrant?, cricket star caught with [insert whatever you choose], Auckland traffic in gridlock, ...

I could go on forever. I for one wouldn't pay these idiots a cent if they continue to publish these "stories" and/or copy and paste similar drivel from other sites that are just as bad.

The Bachelor thing. It lasted 72 hours Stuff says today. Everyone knows the show stopped filming a month ago, so how can that be 72 hours?

A) Reporter doesnt know much but reports anyway

B) Feels a mistruth allows for a greater story.

Note, post is about A+B not The Bachelor
