floydbloke:

Have had three separate Aliexpress orders that took less than a week to arrive in the last few months.  This pleases me.  They all had a sticker saying it was set from Auckland, and they were all mainstream, small items.

Is there a chance they've established some sort of local warehouse/distribution centre, or have I just been lucky.  (In saying that, had a couple of other orders take in excess of two months.)

Those stickers are put on in china despite having the laurensce stevens address as the sender. All that happens is the sacks come over here and are dumped onto NZ post as international mail they have to pass on. They seem to get it to my PO box within a day or 2 of them arriving in the country - its the Chinese end that have sped up getting them here.

Luck on when the sack from that sorting area leaves and gets here is the biggest factor. I have had things ordered 3 weeks apart all turn up on the same day and tracking them all showed them get to NZ at the same time.

I like the "tracking"... Estimated delivery is 10 Dec. They obviously use the slow ship (I'm ok with that as it was a $ 0.25 item with free shipping) but they practically lost track of the item a couple of weeks after shipping:

You might want to blur out your address.

There are things that I ordered which took 4-5months to come. The tracking with those slow shipping options aren’t that accurate. When they say it has arrived at destination country it meaning it has passed to a different courier. When my item came it turns out that they put a different tracking number on it so the one you get from Aliexpress does not update with the slow shipping options.

I've started treating Aliexpress like lotto. The fun is in the anticipation.

Buy something small and trivial, watch it randomly skip between different carriers, and then maybe (or maybe not!) arrive at a totally unrelated time. Part of the thrill is in the excitement of finding something in the letterbox that you'd forgotten about months earlier. 😄

Or have given up on the item arriving and bought elsewhere!

Never give up hope! Had a Cainaio delivery arrive yesterday.

Ordered July 21, refunded in October. Parcel had been repackaged and redirected to NZ in the Czech Republic!

I’m finding Aliexpress deliveries to be the fastest they’ve ever been for me. Current example is an order placed 4 Jan that is in NZ and in transit to local depot today, likely delivered Friday, which is less than 2 weeks. I’ve had 3 or 4 other orders with ~2 week delivery times since November. All have been using ‘standard Aliexpress’ shipping, which includes multiple tracking updates along the way.

AliExpress Standard Shipping has been very fast for me lately. The exception seems to be larger packages which seem to end up going via Singapore Post. Those are currently taking 2-3 weeks.

I might look for something similar but for hdmi switch.

Also, off-topic, is that Quilton 3 Ply 45pk still the best value for toilet tissues? I stocked up last time from TWH with the 2-ply ones and mrs not super impressed lol
