watchmen - not a lindelof fan bit this one hits the targets   8/10

This is an interesting one. Sequel to the graphic novel rather than the film (the "squid storms" will confuse those who have only seen the film).

It's set in an alternate timeline, but the whole "racism in America" theme is about as subtle as a sledgehammer in drawing it's parallels to the "real world".

It's not bad by any means, but i'm not convinced yet that it's good either.

not sure if anyone's posted this one yet (I did a quick search) but The Capture on TVNZ on Demand is excellent (so far - halfway through the mini series)

Its about about deep fakes and CCTV footage in the UK.

Disney+ Has More In Australia Than The US

Gizmodo

Disney+ has landed on Australian shores and it's jam-packed with classics and soon-to-be favourites. Shocking everyone, however, Australians seem to be getting a lot more content than our U.S. counterparts. Here's what's available.

I began this article looking for what Australians would be missing out on at Disney+'s launch but it was quickly flipped on its side. Turns out, Australians have way more available at launch than our friends across the Pacific. It seems that content deals between streaming services, like Netflix and Amazon, in the U.S. have meant Disney has had to suck it up and leave a number of titles available outside of its new home.

We've reached out to Disney to confirm why it's had better success in Australia. It explained it had a lot to do with licencing agreements, which were likely made before plans for Disney+ were underway.

"Our content does differ due to existing licensing commitments – so content varies in each of the markets," a Disney spokesperson told us.

Yep - another vote for The Capture. Excellent. Has been described as The Thinking Person’s ‘The Bodyguard’.

The Mandalorian - Disney+ NZ

I am about halfway through the second episode and it feels like a sidenote from a Star Wars movie - in so much that I keep expecting the famous characters to turn up (and who knows? maybe some will).

It's well made, lavishly constructed and undeniably for the Star Wars fan.

9/10 so far.

Temporarily dropped Netflix and started DisneyPlus. It'll keep me entertained through Xmas.

I will be dropping Neon for this. As I have Sky, the Soho content is covered and the movie database on Neon seems to be getting worse.

I’m fairly impressed with D+ already.

A confession on ITV UK.

Really good and is based on true events.

I've watched the first episode, and am very surprised that I'm enjoying it.

Star Wars has been a train wreck for such a long time, so it's good to see something come out of the franchise that doesn't suck.

Haven't they already..... ??

We've had Jawas, the Bounty hunting robot from Empire strikes back, and a youngling from Yoda's species.

It lavishly shot, and I certainly hope Pedro Pascal isn't being paid by the word.... but I have a nasty feeling the episodes are going to end up "on rails" as it becomes clear that the Mandalorian doesn't want to surrender the youngling to the evil client.... (It is Disney after all)

But just think of all the lucky Chinese sweat shop workers who'll be busy making hundreds of new plastic blister pack toys!

Lol, I'm liking it so far, enjoying the visuals. Only watched first one so far, I like to space my viewing, though will be forced to weekly once watched second one.
