Re-watching The Wire on Neon some 15 (?) years on. Really enjoying it - again. Amazing that it really doesn’t seem to have aged - or if it has, it has aged very well.

I'm watching Watchmen and The Mandalorian still on Sky Go and Disney+ respectively.

I'm still fully onboard with both, but the Mandalorian does feel a little...Disney. Not a bad thing by any means, but sometimes there's just a little bit too much obvious "happy ending coming" story.

I do love that the Mandalorian is sticking to the tried and true formula of the Star Wars franschise though - tech looks like it's from the same era ans the original movies, landscapes and stories are in keeping and they haven't tried to bring it kicking and screaming into the modern age...I think that's partly what sells it.

Just finished watching The Capture. I found this a really good look at the survellience state that we now live in and the reliability of video evidence. 9/10.

Just watched the final of Watchmen.  Holy moly, that was 9 episodes of pure excellence.  From writing, to actors, to soundtrack.  Amazing.  I only hope they leave it at one and done.

Seems Damon Lindelof (Lost, Leftovers) finally learned how to write endings as well as his beginnings.

I think I need to watch Watchmen.
I loved Leftovers, including the ending :)

A critic mentioned the current "Cats" movie (19% Rotten Tomatoes rating). He mentioned in passing it was weider than even Chilean-French filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky. I never heard of him.

It might be worth checking out his movies, if you're a fan of Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Or David Lynch

Who Is Alejandro Jodorowsky?

I'm really enjoying The Witcher on Netflix.  They say it's based on the books not the games, but they've certainly been influenced by a lot of the game aesthetic.

I recommend "The Report" on Amazon.

It delivers a potent moral waterboarding to those in the CIA who used enhanced interrogation techniques and their apologists.

Required viewing for Kiwi politicians and spooks who expect to meet and mingle with current CIA Director Bloody Gina.

Just binge watched The Witcher in a couple of days. While the humour is sometimes... weird it is actually funny but also serious. The story was surprisingly good, much better than I expected. Waiting Season 2 for next year.

I had the uh, pleasure of watching Botched. A trainwreck of a show where people get all sorts of plastic surgery. Man some of those people have serious mental issues.

Season 2 of Lost in Space is out.  I've binged about 7 episodes since last night.  Just like season one it's excellent fun!

I try not to binge but am enjoying following shows:

From Netflix:

Lost in Space, looks as good as first. Just watched s2e1 so far.

Sabrina.

Better then us. Original language Russian, dubbed English took some of the emotion out of the acting, but was so into the story watched in a couple of weeks.

And on Amazon Prime watching Season 4 of The Expanse, watched two  episodes, looks as good as the other seasons.

Finished watching Hanna, enjoyed that one a lot.

I binged this over two days.

It was good, but I think fell short of season 3. The story was just so much smaller in scope than I was expecting after how season 3 ended.

And the recasting of any character in a show annoys me, so I struggled with Avasarala's husband. And as far as recasting goes, this was a particularly bad one. The new actor is a lot younger than the previous one, and I found him far less believable as her husband - there was zero chemistry, and he acted like a completely different character.

Finished The Mandalorian on Disney + (enjoyed it very much)

Mars (Netflix NZ) - another enjoyable season of the docu-drama

Finishing the last few episodes of The Expanse (on Amazon Prime) - again, thoroughly enjoying it like the last three seasons.
