I have an HDR/Dolby Vision-enabled 4K TV, with HDR/Dolby Vision devices (Chromecast with Google TV 4K HDR and Amazon Fire TV 4K Max). And yet, the damn directors decide to make pictures so dark you can barely see anything on the screen.

The last couple of Harry Potters were absurdly dark, to the point where I checked the calibration of my projector after playing one of them (it was still correct). I suspect that someone at the studio went "most people have the brightness set too high, so let's over-darken the home release to account for it".

Same people who make the dialogue inaudible / unintelligible I guess.

Apparently sound technicians frequently get overruled, being told "we'll redub it later", which then never happens because the people reviewing the audio are intimately familiar with the script and have the benefit of knowing exactly what everyone's supposed to be saying, and therefore they don't realise how inaudible it all is.

Sounds like they're budding politicians - we don't listen to experts, we know whats best for you.

wow, impressed myself how I maneuvered Harry Potter round to politics there...

frankv:

Either TM has hidden the solution so completely that a minute search of the UI can't find it, or it's not there at all.

You could be a the lucky participant in some A/B testing. Has anyone else seen this, or more accurately everyone else seen it?

...and when you phone a call-centre and there's a big volume level delta between the hold music and the agent talking.  (This appears to be the norm rather than the exception.)

Auto-correct is why I have crust issues.

Sheesh, don't you think I would have bought a BT transmitter elsewhere by now?

Get an email from Radio Spectrum Management telling me they're moving to a new system and I need to sign in and link my old account to the new one. Go through the laborious several-stage RealMe + RSM logon process and get... 404. On two different browsers, so it's not a browser problem.

Bought a size 4 Turkey from New World today in case we miss out only to bring it home and see the PacnSave email flyer that has it for $20 less this week.

But at least you have one! If you hadn't bought it and waited there would be probably none left when you went to get it!

Very true and Murphy has been super active this last month. I feel better now thinking I could have been driving to the next PacnSave using $20 of gas because the local one will have run out and my time is so precious at the moment.
