Kmart in Rotorua who think it is a good idea if they don't show the price of anything in the store. Some things have them but the majority of items you have to go and find a working barcode scanner to find out the price . No idea why they think it is a good idea , all i know it is really annoying .

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Speaking of which, I would have gone to Costco for the first time ever today if Murphy didn’t bless us with Covid (also for the first time ever) instead cancelling our trip up to Auckland.

I get a double whammy with Murphy being my actual last name.

Pointless bureaucracy in the health service.

I have several permanent medical conditions that will never change. I take a variety of long term medication for them. Control is excellent.

I saw the doctor a week ago about something unrelated.

Today I asked for repeat prescriptions for my long term meds.

“You need to see the doctor.”

“Why? I’ve been taking the medication for over a decade. I also saw him last week.”

“I don’t make the rules. We can get you in in 3 weeks.”

“What do I do if I run out before that?”

“We’ll have to put in an urgent request and it will be at the doctor’s discretion.”

FFS. Just write the prescription.

I am currently going through getting repeat prescriptions of everything I need before the end of the year - otherwise could be at least a couple of weeks without the medications I need to manage my current condition.

You can NOT be prescribed meds if you have not seen your GP in the last 12 months, that is the law. Some meds are shorter than that. And depending on what condition you have they may also require various blood etc tests. Had mine done 3 weeks ago.

Some practices have tighter rules, some will do every 6 months, others (mine) every 3 months.

If you needed med at this time of the year, then you should have gone last month, the pharmacy will hold the script and then make it up in a couple of weeks.

As the saying goes "Lack on planning on your behalf does not constitute an emergency on our behalf"

Oh, my wife is a practice manager, so I get to hear about this all of the time because she is the one who cops the abuse.

You can get meds to treat double-posting?

Edited to add: Double post that I'm joking about has now been removed.

I was looking for some under-shorts (padded) to go under my MTB pants that don't have a padded posterior.

I saw some on special at EVO. THey charge the same to pick up and they do to deliver. So I thought, "why pay for pickup and then use my own time and fuel to go pick up the item when it arrives?".

I chose delivery. $6.95.

I got a notice today that the item has shipped. "Hooray", says me and clicks on the link to track the item...only to find that they have chosen Aramex as the courier.

I am expecting the pants to arrive some time in 2026, if they arrive at all.

I'm still waiting for them to pick up an item I booked to ship with them via Trademe, 6 weeks ago! (I sent it through the Post Office 5 weeks ago, but was waiting to see if they'd ever turn up).

Aramex Twitterissä: "@compuomari Hello, we're sorry to hear ...

Same issue, ordered something over a week ago from a small family business that usually ships the same day and it arrives the following day.

Since it had been a week with no updates I emailed them, and they replied to apologise and say they were still waiting for Aramex to pick it up, along with a pile of other orders. We're now into the second week and Aramex still haven't managed to pick up any of the orders.

How is this company still in business?

One of my friends was mountain bike riding and spent an exhausting hour following another friend up hill... Then realised he could see through others too thin pants.

Great reminder for me as it's the time of year when I really need my meds - because family!
