Going through American Gods - finished season 1 last week and on to season 2 now. Just... weird, but interesting.

They lost me after about the third episode...just couldn't take to it.

I've been watching The Witcher on Netflix NZ - into episode 2 now...it's been a solid start, so far.

I enjoyed season 1. Anything emanating from Neil Gaiman is usually interesting at the very least.

He also has a series starting on BBC on the 15th Jan Good Omens originally on Amazon Prime. Another good vs evil gods thing apparently.

I know I was harsh about the last episode of Dracula.  It did have some great stuff in it.  The fact both me AND my wife (who never watch the same things) binged the whole 3x 90 min episodes in a row last night should speak volumes about the quality of the show.  I just had some issues with the last episode....which is always going to be the case with such an ambitious departure from the norm.  I would still strongly recommend it to anyone looking for something interesting and original to watch.

Wife and I are enjoying the Suspect on TVNZ on Demand. Quality UK police mini series about a soldier recorded on CCTV on video attacking a girl, and what is real and what is fake.

Also I have finally managed to start watching The Wire on Neon.
Just finished S1 - great slow burning US cop show from HBO. The character development is first class. Showed the crims in the slums as well as the cop POV.

Actually I think it’s called The Capture - and yes, agree it’s excellent.

Coincidentally, have also just finished re-watching The Wire on Neon - about 15 years after first seeing it. Brilliant series - one of the very best ever made. Interesting that it really doesn’t seem to have aged - or at least has aged very well. Great seeing Idris Elba again as a somewhat younger man. Amazing how for a Cockney guy born in Hackney, he totally masters the character, language and accent of a black Baltimore slum drug boss. And Dominic West, who plays Baltimore cop, McNulty, is a Pom too.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I watched The Capture just before Christmas and thought it was the best series I've seen for a long time.

I've just discovered Citizen Khan and have knocked out the first series and am on to series 2. Very funny indeed, if you like that sort of humour.

you are not alone , if the critics had a problem with the series it was with the final episode, mainly the ending .

Just finished ep 3. Not sure how you wanted it to end, seems fine to me.

I watch the first episode last night. I actually almost stopped it during the open credits when I saw that one of the creators and writers was Steven Moffat. But I decided to give it a chance.

Based in just the first episode, I'm not sure what to think. It started quite faithful to the novel, but had deviated wildly by the end - I assume that was intentional to make you think it would be traditional and then throw a curve ball, but it left me with mixed feelings.

I'll reserve judgement until I've seen the second and third episodes.

Worst line "(I'm) your every nightmare at once, an educated woman with a crucifix!".

I too watched the first episode of Dracula last night. So far I think it's quite good; I like it when a traditional story that everyone knows well is taken and altered to turn it on its head. I liked the addition of the nuns and having Van Helsing being a nun was great!

Finally got round to watching Arrow.

Reached the end of Series 2. If I hear Thea moan that people are lying to her in that entitled brat voice one more time, I may need a new TV.

I do wish these modern superhero series would cease the navel gazing and remember that they are  a comic come to life, not serious art house cinema. Gadgets, skills, cool evil opponents and fights etc please. Leave the introspective brooding to something else.
