This means bus passengers now have to alight/embark in the middle of a cycle lane to get back to the footpath.

This is my biggest bugbear with the latest cycleways. It's only a matter of time before a pedestrian gets killed, and sadly it's likely to be an elderly or disabled person on the receiving end.

Probably designed by someone who doesn't cycle nor uses a bus that operates in these areas.

That's a long-standing issue with AT bus routes and timetables, some of them have been created by people who would fail a Captcha that asks them to click on all the images of buses.

This happened a few years ago and I feel I may have posted it at the time, but here I go again. We got a survey at work and were told that they wanted every staff member to respond to it. As you wish.

Do you take the bus to work? No.
Have you ever taken the bus to work? No.
If we were to give you a free bus card, would you take the bus to work? No.
Why won't you take the bus to work? Because there are no bus stops near my house. In fact, the closest bus stop to my house is also the one closest to work.

If I had been drinking a cup of tea/coffee when I read this you'd owe me a new keyboard. 😎

Yep I worry about the ones outside the hospital in particular - as quite a number of people (myself included) are busing there because they have an appointment of some sort and may not be 100% able bodied at the time. I made a submission to the council along those lines at the time, but in my experience nothing much happens as the result of lodging a submission.

Decided to check life insurance, to compare my current premium.

Visited Pinnacle Life, filled the form and at the end "enter your email to receive your quote".

Instead of receiving the quote via email I had two missed calls from an unknown number. The first was within five minutes of filling the form.

I don't want to talk to anyone. Just send me the quote via email, as promised. AA can do it.

^HAH. Try this one:  I'm someone that's on the receiving end of a form that prompts for a preferred communication method.  If they've selected email (which the form defaults to anyway) and I have to call them due to knowing that a simple email reply won't help I always cringe a little, question my life then start the call with my usual intro followed by "... now I note you've requested reply by email on the form, however we'll be able to sort this quicker for you over the phone ..."

Bought an item listed as in stock. Money was taken immediately. This morning I got an email saying "oh whoopsie, we're out of stock, so we'll refund $86.98 you sometime over the next week". So they take the money immediately, then faff around for days when giving it back (I know I'm not the first to complain about this!).

It'll be interesting to see how much I get refunded, as the email says $86.98 but the original purchase was $86.99. It's obviously a rounding error, but I wonder whether it's just in the email or whether it'll apply to the transaction too.

Answered their phone call today. She went through the same questions from the form again. She then wanted to go through the sign up. I said I just wanted the quote promised on the website, to compare with other quotes.

She has not sent the quote. They have my email address.

Commercial sellers who list stuff on Trademe when they know they won't open again for weeks and weeks, so if you do a Buy Now you get neither a response nor anything shipped for an indefinite amount of time, and if you query an item on an auction you get no response as the auction expires.
