Come to think of it, we usually do a private one over Christmas when my brother visits, but he got ill a couple of days before Christmas so that delayed his visit, and now he's having car troubles. Maybe we'll get it to eventually...

That media crime reports always blather on about the maximum sentence for whatever crime is being reported on, but no-one ever gets anything close to the maximum, so what is the point of going on about it? They might as well mention the number of stars in the Universe, which has the same relevance.

The messaging app I use (Element) has stopped working, because... drumroll... they forgot to renew the SSL certificate.

Been in the pool in the back yard the last 3 days.... the amount of work get it up and running properly better mean I am going to be "miffed" if I don't get more days than 3.

Bought an item listed as in stock. Money was taken immediately. This morning I got an email saying "oh whoopsie, we're out of stock, so we'll refund $86.98 you sometime over the next week". So they take the money immediately, then faff around for days when giving it back (I know I'm not the first to complain about this!).

It'll be interesting to see how much I get refunded, as the email says $86.98 but the original purchase was $86.99. It's obviously a rounding error, but I wonder whether it's just in the email or whether it'll apply to the transaction too.

Had a similar experience just now.  We're planning a holiday down south.  Found some nice accommodation on Booking.com that showed as available on the dates we needed. Made the reservation, all went through as normal.  An hour or so later receive an email that the host/owner has requested we cancel the reservation as they have no availability at that time....but don't worry, you won't have to pay any cancellation fee.  (Card wasn't debited in this case but still annoying)

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

My wife will be needing knee replacements at some stage, they are loathe to do it before 65.

So in the mean time its various pain killers, and the useful bit is a disability parking card.

So when fit, young healthy people park in the disabled parks...well lets just say "Annoyed" does not cover it.

Shops/shopping centres should start trespassing these ignorant pricks, perhaps then they will understand the inconvenience and harm they do to others.

Likewise the parks for the parents with children, this means YOUNG children, not teenagers.

I can appreciate that; the next-door neighbour had a party for ~7 hours today with lots of "talking" at the top of their lungs, music, etc. I'm glad that it's stopped, but there are still a number of cars around so I wonder whether they're going to turn up again...

We have one neighbour with a very loud voice and they are regularly out on their deck until 2-3am talking and laughing.

Another neighbour held a housewarming party. They were extremely good neighbours.

They sent us all a notice as well as a strict timetable for when the party would move indoors, stop, and people leave by.

Neighbours up the street did something similar, they had some sort of anniversary bash and left notes in everyone's letterbox giving the date, time, and expected finish time, as well as an invite to drop by. The main thing was letting everyone know in advance, and pointing out that it was a one-off for a special occasion rather than some random noisy party, everyone was fine with it.
