Actually I think it’s called The Capture - and yes, agree it’s excellent.

I watched The Capture just before Christmas and thought it was the best series I've seen for a long time.

I've just discovered Citizen Khan and have knocked out the first series and am on to series 2. Very funny indeed, if you like that sort of humour.

They all know me.

I enjoyed season 1. Anything emanating from Neil Gaiman is usually interesting at the very least.

He also has a series starting on BBC on the 15th Jan Good Omens originally on Amazon Prime. Another good vs evil gods thing apparently.

excellent mini-series with great acting from michael sheen and david tennant.

the superb scripts were written by gaiman, adapting gaiman.

moffatt and gatis put a few interesting twists on the old dracula story, worth a watch.

unlike the new lost in space, who thought space could be so boring.

Watched the second episode of Dracula last night. The very end was a real "Whoa!" moment! Can't wait to see the third episode, hope I'm not disappointed.

I watched the second episode last night as well. Maybe we were watching different shows? I predicted the "twist" ending several minutes before the "reveal", then thought "oh, maybe they won't", but then they did.

I thought the first episode was good/average (started good, ended average), and the second episode average at best. I'm predicting a poor final episode.

They've got some interesting ideas in there, but (in my opinion) just didn't execute them well. Plus, in true Steven Moffatt fashion, plot holes you could drive a bus through.

I was not a fan of Moffatt-era Doctor Who, and that's exactly what episode 2 felt like to me (Agatha was stand-in for The Doctor).

Have just finished watching For All Mankind on ATV+. I think I remember some people being somewhat dismissive of it here earlier but I really enjoyed it. Parts failed the suspension of disbelief test and it was unashamedly pro US and NASA (as you might expect) but on the whole really well done.

It was interesting how they wove real NASA people into the story - eg. Werner von Braun, Deke Slayton, Gene Kranz, plus real politicians.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

The Witcher 7/10 - I really enjoyed it.

Just like La La Land except the romantic protagonists had less career choice, and have established careers. Other than that, swordfighting instead of dancing, magic instead of jazz.

Edit: On second thoughts that's an unbalanced review. Initially I almost didn't watch it because of the comical overdubbing of the lead actor in every scene, and there was way too much blood and screaming. But, it was great! Also, beautifully humorous in places.

Watched the final espisode of Dracula last night. It had some very funny bits in it but I can see why some people were disappointed with the ending. I expected a big battle and a steak through the heart but it kind of finished with a whimper. Still, overall I thought the series was interesting and fun and worth the time.

I'm going to buck the trend and say I didn't think episode 3 of Dracula was substantially worse than the first two episodes. It had a very weak ending (that could have been good if it felt earned and in character), but I thought it was better than episode 2. Episode 3 was at least based somewhat on the novel; introducing the characters of Lucy, Quincy, Jack, and Renfield.

Episode 1 - 6.5/10

Episode 2 - 3/10

Episode 3 - 4.5/10

Overall though the series lacked any consistency (each episode felt like a completely different show). It had some interesting new ideas, but they weren't well executed.

I agree with both assessments of episode 3, as I posted earlier in the thread. I guess that's what happens when you have to try and invent a new part of a traditional story.

Sex Education - Netflix - 8.5/10 (R16 sex & nudity & mild drug use) Mid teen identity, good, bad & crazy parents and parenting. Very, very funny with a little sadness.

A mid teenage boy with a sex therapist mother teams up with a high school classmate to set up an underground sex therapy clinic at school.

This 8 episode first season is just a great big hurricane of fresh & innovative script writing. Asa Butterfield & Gillian Anderson are brilliant and so is the rest of the cast. The soundtrack is also great with tunes to cater for all ages. This was set and filmed in Wales for, surprisingly, the American market.

Season 2 starts on 17 January

Looking forward to this great series.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

For those who miss The Bridge, there is something called The Tunnel. I am only a couple episodes into it, and it isn't badly made at all, but it almost seems like a scene-for-scene rip-off, complete with body in two halves on the border line and a French police lady who lacks social graces. If you have seen The Bridge, it is hard not to keep comparing the two. Otherwise an enjoyable watch so far.
