Geektastic:

Those crazy Austrians and their sense of humour...!

Unfortunately not - it is NO fake. It came to a well noticed, serious trial on court who finally teached the policeman that 'Emergency breaks all rules'. Unfortunately those basic lessons have been paid by the taxpayers. That obvious lack of compenence in duty should have been barely paid by the policeman. Oups, I'm in the opposite topic now. ;-)

Just had the first apple of the season from the top (ripens first) of our tree.  As long as I water this particular tree and trap coddle moths, it produces masses of fruit and they are really nice too.

After YEARS of being unable to find nice apples (crisp is the main criteria) I finally found a brand that is consistent, called Sweet Tango, I highly recommend them, though if you have a free fruiting, probably not a lot of point.

When your bank writes off nearly 3K of a loan because they told you the incorrect amount to repay, resulting in you paying less than you should of, but you don't end up making to make up the shortfall.

There is a power cut in my area right now. And my networking gear and internet seamlessly switched to battery operation and remained online. A good live systems test.

That my 5 year old daughter taught a med student at the pediatrician how to play chess and then beat her 3 times.

If someone comes up with the idea of a "World's most recognized Genuine Geekzone Pineapple Pizza (GGPP) recipe contest".

First price: a (galvanic) gold plated, refurbished, functional Huawei HG659 WiFi router ... signed by the "celebrities" of the forum. smile

My Risc OS computer (yes, I still have one) doing what it's told without argument. I'd just been using a flash drive and I wanted to dismount it. However, I accidentally clicked Dismount on the primary hard drive. It simply popped up a "please wait" cursor for a couple of seconds, did some housekeeping, and then dismounted the drive ready for a hot-swap. I'm sure Windows would've gone into cardiac arrest if I'd told it to do that!

When I found this comment to a reply for an issue in the A/C's maintenance log:

Pilot: "Something wrong with brake temp on LH LDG wheel buggy - pls check."

Mechanic: "Checked and fixed something."

Pilot: "If you're dead, you don't know you're dead. It's difficult only for the others. It's the same when you're stupid." smile

I am thinking about a trip to Japan.

I was checking public holidays as part of that and smiled when I realised that there is at least 1 public holiday every month except June!

Trust the Japanese to manage to even get that organised neatly! Also what a sensible idea. Oh - and every single one except NYD is Mondayised too.

Since yesterday we have a 39 years old minister of state for digitalization in Germany. Looking forward to speed up fiber to the homes (FTTH, similar to your UFB) and 5G deployment. smile

Good luck.

Yesterday Chorus told the Select Committee dealing with the foolish foreign buyer ban that the way it was drafted at the moment they would be unable to roll out 5G easily because, since 25%+ of their shares are held by overseas entities or individuals, they will require OIO consent for every single thing they need to acquire to achieve the network...!
