Odd movie, but really enjoyed it overall

Yeah I really enjoyed that too.

Me too, watched it on blu-ray last night. Thought it was extremely funny. Brendan Gleeson is always quality. I'm no fan of Colin Farrel but it's nice to watch something with him not putting on a crap american accent! Great visuals in the film too, looked awesome in HD.

Watched Traitor on the plane from Sydney to Wellington last night. Very good movie, you keep thinking when will things untangle...

Monsters vs Aliens 3D: Just got home from this an hour or so ago. This is the first 3D movie I've seen since Jaws, and whatever that TV "3d spectacular" was in the 80's that KFC sponsored and gave everyone 3D glasses for (showing my age now!). I have to say - 3D has come of age!! It really was "spectacular". There were bits that just seemed to jump off the screen - sounds like a joke but seriously - the quality of the 3D effects was amazing! The movie itself wasn't great though, it had some funny bits and all, but it's not much different to Monsters Inc crossed with The Incredibles, etc. I mean it's no Pixar movie that's for sure. But still, well worth the visit to the cinema to check it out in all its 3D glory.

Can't wait to see something else in 3D now too! What's coming up??

The Boy In Striped Pyjamas

I really enjoyed this movie although as you reach the last 10 minutes you know whats going to happen. Doesn’t take away from a more realistic approach to how all Germans didn’t necessarily see WWII & the fundamentals behind its rationale to be true.

Check this movie out - 'Primer' about some engineering students who create a time machine by accident while testing their garage inventions. Probably the best movie on time travel ive seen to date. Primer is an oldish movie came out in 2004 but its worth a look, no hollywood stunts just a good plain story thats more convincing than the hollywood ones. Got good reviews & made on a low budget.

The Fall - imdb gives it 8/10 and i would agree - stunning movie in HD especially the opening scene..

I saw this recently too. I thought the ending was a bit blatant, and rushed, but then how do you deal with that subject matter without being blatant and in your face. An interesting story, if not slightly misguided in its execution... imo.

Awful!!

The Director was changed from 1 & 2 and it shows. The lead characters deserve better.

The lead so-called actress was working as a hairdresser when the Director spotted her crossing a street in NYC and gave her "acting lessons" (Yeah - right!) and cast her in the film.

I discovered that after seeing it - but when I left the cinema I remarked to She Who Must Be Obeyed that I rather thought it looked as though the actress was the daughter of a Russian oligarch who had simply paid for the movie to get his darling daughter started in the film business!!

Maybe worth it on DVD if you have a spare night in - just for the crazy driving - but 1 & 2 are much better movies.

Ok, so I checked out Primer. I'm a little lost as to the appeal here.

I'll qualify that by saying that I'm a huge fan of indy films, and dialogue driven films. I even like films where you have to see them 3 or 4 times before you know what they're actually talking about.....

But still, Primer was a bit of a non-event for me. Maybe I "do" need to watch it again, to see if there's any references i missed or something. But really I just found it to be hard to follow, hard to know what events were being dealt with at what time during the film. I wasn't a fan of the actors, I did however like the style in which it was shot.

Maybe I'll try find a Primer Walkthru online :P
