Don't have a NAS and have no real need for one. Couldn't stay awake for 47minutes to watch the video, so that probably counts me out.

Good luck to the rest of you guys.

I have used my Synology NAS with Emby as a good allround home theatre solution.

I have the Synology DS214se which is a great little machine, I love that things like backing up to Amazon Glacier is just a few easy clicks. However it is getting a little under-powered for my usage, so it would be great to have an upgrade to a newer more capable model

I switched to a Synology NAS a few years back, after using a (very) cheap QNAP NAS.  The experience was like night and day, and I've been very pleased with Synology and the DSM software.  I find it really reliable.

I would be so stoked to win the main prize of the Synology NAS on offer here.  While it would be overkill for my needs, it would be great to have a new NAS in my new home when I move in after Christmas.  I'm looking forward to planning my new network (including running ethernet wherever I can, and maybe even setting up a patch panel and a comms cabinet).  A new NAS would be a sweet addition, and it would mean I could leave my current DS218+ with my ex, and possibly investigate reciprocal backups between both our houses.  I'm using Backblaze B2 to backup everything at the moment, and having two backup locations would be a good insurance policy.

I would be delighted to upgrade our DS119j - it's been a cracker, but that DS920+ looks like a beast!

I'm a simple man, so while the backup stuff sounds awesome, it's the video by Annika about Synology photos and Synology Drive mobile app that had me most excited!

Let's go, random number generator!

Oooohh! Badge! And cap/tumbler! Also, a NAS would be good to digitise the household's collection of CDs, DVDs and Blurays. I know - most are available online, but having paid for the darn things over many decades it would be good to feel there was still 'value' from them.... and then either sell or store the hardcopies. Or use them as coasters. Or learn to shoot and have lots of pretty skeets or whatever the targets are called :-)

having spent years running seperate systems on aging hardware and now a proxmox-based system with multiple VMs that struggle to talk to each other, I would love to have a single centralised and integrated security solution (on so many fronts) in one place :)

... and a badge.  would love a badge!

Synology is moving in the direction of being a 1 stop backup solution.

Would love to get a synology NAS soon to move away from having to run a desktop PC 24/7.

+1 Badge. ;p

Currently running a 5bay linux softraid on home server, nas could be a good change to move the storage off to it's own dedicated function.

I had an old DS212j back in the day which was a good Time Machine server. Moved onto a HP Microserver now for Plex, be great to be able to go back to a Synology now I could move that workload to a NAS. Gets rid of having to look after the underlying OS (VMware/Win Server)
