I have a set of Superlux HD681 semi open studio headphones. When I need to keep quiet in the house I use them for music practise, composition, and assisting with a little mixing. My band's singer uses them when we have 'silent' practices through a basic in-ears-monitor system. They're not bad but with what I'm using them for I should really have much better headphones.

Cheap and cheerful wired ear thingies. Used for tv/movie/music on my daily 1hr 45 min each way train journey from Masterton to Wellington and for work conference calls.

I used to have a set of Bose Over ear wired noise cancelling which I used when I travelled overseas extensively for work. But the plastic cracked leaving one earpiece hanging by the wire. Then covid came along and haven't travelled since Dec 19 so haven't replaced them

boy, do i need a new set of headphones - these things sound like im talking through mud (sorry CDL, but you get what you pay for i assume)

I am a compulsive headphone collector, but sadly I now have a hearing problem, so high-end units are wasted on me.

My "everyday" headphones are Sennheiser HD600s (wired) with an Audioengine model D1 DAC/amp.

An excellent mid-priced headphone, lightweight and comfortable to wear with glasses.

Used to listen to hi-res music and movies via my desktop PC.

I have headphones and like them because:

Working open plan and a few sounds and a bit of noise cancelling is really helpful
Being able to take Zoom/Teams/Phone calls on the hoof

Currently have Sony XM3. Initially got them for travel a few years ago because of the good noise cancelling but now working from home, the microphone on them sucks for meetings.

I have a crappy "Laser" brand on-ear wired headset. It is mostly being used for working-from-home Teams meetings now, but have also used it to play PS4 occasionally.

Yes, it's missing one of the ear cushions. And yes it hurts when you wear it for too long! 😓
Yes, the cable braiding has come apart in places, exposing the plastic wiring sheath underneath. 😬
Yes, that's also a mic+headset combiner cable on the end - because my work laptop (and the PS4) requires has the, now standard, combined heaset and mic in one port. 🤦‍♂️

So yeah... in short, I really need a replacement! Haha

I am just a poor peasant who has nothing like this, but would great to drag my ears into this century

if i got the ear buds I would use when walking the dog and the headphones if could connect to my TV would be awesome too

Well I've always had different phones for different purposes.

Going back a few years, I used Platten wired Headphones from Urbanears for use with an iPod/iphone. These days I rarely use headphones on my main Hi Fi System as the speakers are great, so the headphones have taken into account the reduced quality of mp3-based music. I then moved to the bluetooth version of the Platten phones, again for music but also have moved into Podcasts too.

At the gym I've used some Koss Plugs for many years as they are great for isolating the outside environment. More recently I've brought some Sennheiser HD 450BT as they were reasonably priced, sound good (better than the Plattens actually), have great battery life. Their downside at the gym is that they are over the ear and quite hot to wear if you get hot when you exercise.

I've tried Sony BT earplugs, but I do find it hard to keep ear-bud style phones in my ears when I am active. Always looking for what's next! :-)

I currently use 2 different headphones (obviously not at the same time!), being:

1. Skullcandy 'cassette wireless on-ear headphones' - I use these when I don't want to disturb my wife with whatever i am listening to at the time.

2. Audio-technica 'quietpoint' noise cancelling - i use these when on long haul flights to quiet the surrounding noise and also to listen to the aircraft's passenger sound system.

I find both of them adequate for the job.

Literally don't have any headphones/airpods right now.

Would love to use them for listening to ASMR especially. Also watching Disney+ on the quiet and some other media platforms, plus the occasional Age Of Empires game!
