Too lazy to check, so probably mentioned before, but clicking on a zoom for an image and bringing up an image thats the same size as the original.

Bonus points if you can right-click the "zoomed" image, Open Image in New Tab, and suddenly get a bigger one.

Websites that put an unnecessary overlay over the image just so that when you right click to select Open Image in New Tab, you either get no image options at all, or the image that opens is a transparent GIF...

Look for a browser extension called Behind that undoes this nonsense.

And idly browsing round for bookcases. The prices for some are ridiculous. $4099 for pine, dark stained, but pine. And the same model but with lights - $4999. $900 for a few metres of wire and some LEDs.

Sorry, I exaggerate. That example is for a display cabinet, so obviously thats a bargain.

Outdoor furniture is insanely expensive these days. Plasticky outdoor dining chairs at Mitr10 $300-$400 common as muck. And they do. not. last. if left out.

I went through this last summer, just the two of us at home. I just wanted a pair of Cape Cod esque chairs and a small table. The pricing for stuff in generic big box stores was insane. I want my partner and I to be able to sit outside, not host ten people and block the view with huge leaners.

Wound up getting them made locally, not super expensive, about $1500 all up but unlike the box stores, they can be left outside with just an oil once a year.

It did take six months as they were so busy. So they arrived in winter. And I've still barely sat on them!!

Someone in the shop at work that thinks that getting on speakerphone and loudly telling their friend that they're still at the store and its taking ages because we are slow will in any way have a positive outcome for the speed they are served at.

Just in general, people using speakerphone on their calls, holding their phone in front of their chin like a waiter with a small platter. It just makes me want to turn a fire hose on them. Nobody wants to hear your conversations, you morons!

They're in Silverdale in Auckland. I'm not 100% on the wood, Kwila I think, with marine grade fastenings. I think I'm supposed to tighten them annually too. I should dig out the piece of paper as the website didn't say.

People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

If you're in Auckland have a look at Woodpia furniture, they do a huge range of pine bookcases and similar, solid 20mm shelves that won't bend when you put a few books on it, reasonably priced and can customise if need be. The library at the Casa is all Woodpia and I'd go straight back to them if I needed more made, the service from them has been outstanding.

Stupidly low ball job offers (for Mrs Handle). Is it really that hard to offer a reasonable offer when you know it's going to be rejected?

I know it's a tactic but it annoys me all the same
