A sudden influx of mozzies since it stopped raining.
Delete cookies?! Are you insane?!
Behodar:Hmm... they claim that this is just a modem replacement and that there won't be an outage, but we shall see!
If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

In a similar vein (correct spelling?) - flies. Since the end of the apocalypse, up here in the leafy suburbs or Auckland's North Shore, we are now experiencing more flies (and weirdly, more wasps) than there ever should be.
And they seem to be immune to fly spray - just makes them a little slower.
My aim with my electric bat is terrible and I am starting to develop elbow and wrist pain from the constant attempts at swatting the buggers.
grrr....

richms:There isn't an outage, but the numbers on my meter were all reset to 0 with the change over.
I was told in writing and on "booking" that mine will be a 1 hour power outage while the current "smart" meter is replaced!
Presumably your meter isn't compatible with the new modem.
I mowed my lawn after downpour flood #1 without catcher so it would dry out ready for next mow. Now looking at it last night, downpour #2 has compacted it into a thick mat of brown muck that is now obstructing the grass underneath so will need me to rake over it before mowing again this weekend.

Ha ha! Considering reposting this post on the "Small things that make me smile" thread. How ironic is that?
One day after bug bombing the place, there's an ant trail in the kitchen.

Further discussion on this has bought up the existence of a dethatcher which apparently will clear all that pushed in clippings and more up and make the lawn really good, so it might be a trip to the now apparently re-opened Wairau branch of church bunnings to pick up the Ryobi one.
Turning on my PS4 for the first time in two years only for it to boot in safe mode and decree that I need to reinstall the OS.
Sony says "If your console has been offline for a long period, or has lost connection to the internet during a system software update, you may need to manually update the system software." and I take this to mean that it has expiring certificates or some similar nonsense.

Hehe, I know this is not as annoying but ....... I seldom play on my xbox. Every 6 months, lets say. So I think, oh, I have a half hour and I feel like a play. Turn it on , ready for some digital violence only to find....... it needs to do an update.

Well, I successfully installed the required update and was in the process of trying to download a game, when it suddenly took me to the "shutting down" screen then turned itself off. What in the world? [Edit: I remembered that the USB cable I was using is a bit dodgy, so it may have trigged something. Using Bluetooth now that I'm not in safe mode and we'll see what happens.]
Edit: And then it had the gall to say something like "next time, shut down before you pull the plug" when I booted it back up.

My problem is that the download is done in no time, and then it takes forever to sit there and "verify" the download. Then forever to install the update. Then it will often tell me that my controllers need an update too which also takes forever. All I want to do is watch youtube generally but no, have to update everything.

Thinking about it some more (remembering that I lent it) and comparing versions, I now have a different theory. Apparently this hard drive had OS 8.52 installed. When I lent the PS4 to a friend (with a different hard drive), he updated the OS on that drive to 9.03. When I got the machine back I then put my old drive back in then forgot all about it.
It seems that the PS4 stores the "current" OS version in flash somewhere. It refuses to boot 8.52 since it "knows" that 9.03 is newer, and forces an update through safe mode.
