Witcher.

Very good - they should get the same people to remake LOTR and The Hobbit - they're better at this than Peter Jackson!

Last night I watched the first episode of McMillions (Neon has it). I'd read the story a few years ago but seeing the actual people involved and hearing it in their own words is interesting.

Watched the first 3 episodes of Ragnarök on Netflix. I am giving it a weak 7/10 and see how it goes.

Because it is Norwegian the English certainly does not match the lips, even so the basic premise is; A small Norwegian town experiencing warm winters and violent downpours seems to be headed for another Ragnarök -- unless someone intervenes in time. Gods vs mortals and industry vs environmentalists. In other words it combines old Norse Mythology with modern day climate change and pollution.

This is not a Marvel comic rewrite, not even close. It is more like Riverdale & Twilight & Erin Brockovich meet Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Or should that be Greta Thunberg meets Trump.

So Ragnarök is a loose interpretation of the end of the Gods and Earth and Earths rebirth - I think.

I've started (nearly finished) October Faction on Netflix NZ this week (up to episode 10 of 10).

I'm really enjoying it. Family drama, interspersed with Monster Hunting and Fascist overtones.

8/10 from me.

Edit: didn't finish my post before pressing the go button

Binged Locke & Key, enjoyed it. Seemed like a kids series at first but then it didn't.If you like supernatural/fantasy series it's worth a look.

Still persisting with Doctor who, don't know why. They just can't stop with the social messages about as subtle as a sledgehammer between the eyes.

Jodie might be ok if they gave her a decent storyline.

Haven’t watched it because it doesn’t turn up for few days but I see Narcos: Mexico S2 is due on Netflix shortly.

Watched all 10 episodes of "Wayne" on Youtube.

I really enjoyed it - despite probably being 40+ years older than the intended audience demographic.  NSFW (graphic violence, language, themes etc), and probably not the kind of thing many parents of teenagers would be happy to see their kids watching (R16 advisory IIRC - probably wise).  Great acting / comic stereotypes of bad teenagers, cops, white trash, school principals etc.  Kind of sad that there's only one season, OTOH maybe it would have been impossible to keep up the pace without it running out of steam.

Baghdad Central (All 4)

Binged the first and only season in 3 days (6 episodes). Set in Iraq in 2003 highlighting the corruption in allied forces post the fall of Saddam and the tension with locals.

Gritty and powerful. Really enjoyed it.

Not a series, but Prime just had a special about escaping from the Hotel Grand Chancellor during the 2011 earthquake. Very moving.
