Handsomedan:

Wet and Forget.

It's easy to apply and seems to smell like it would work...but there's no immediate effect. I want instant gratification!

I don't like having to wait for progress.

Just use diluted Clorogene. We had a quote from a well known roof cleaning company of circa $900 to remove lichen and other stuff off our roof. My ever resourceful wife diluted clorogene with water in a spray bottle thing, climbed on the roof, sprayed, came down had lunch and a few weeks or so later it was all gone. All up it cost a lot less than $100.

We use this to clean our driveway, lichen off the Glass House and other so called wet and forget tasks.

Just be aware that bleach removes the visible signs of the problem but not the problem itself, it'll regrow from spores. To kill it you need a proper biocide.

Edited to add: It's also nasty corrosive on a lot of things it gets into contact with.

Bleach ruins most rubbers which is why you cant run it thru a waterblaster pump. If you have seals in the downspouts etc I would be worried about them over time.

Hell yeah...they belong in the sea.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Tauranga gets, I dunno 20 or 30 km of shiny smooth new blacktop, Whakatane gets about 20 or 30 metres of shiny smooth new blacktop down Commerce Street.

They've painted it now! ...and left the "no road marking" signs up.

Spray and walk away?

It's a real issue for me - I have to look at it the whole time I am working from home...I simply can't forget that it's wet.

Something small that really annoys me is the recent disappearance of programme information from Australian IPTV streams. The EPG guide used to provide blurbs, just like the NZ channels, now it only repeats the title and nothing else.

Whichever cretin at Bunnings decided that every single piece of pine moulding, trim, dressed timber, and other stuff all had to have huge impossible-to-remove white stickers on them. You can't peel them off, can't scrape them off, they gum up sandpaper if you try and sand them off, they block plane blades if you try and plane them, you pretty much have to ruin the timber in order to be able to use it unless whatever you're using it for has one side that's not visible where you can hide the mess.

I've found Bunnings excellent for accepting feedback like this. I recommend contacting them and giving constructive feedback via their website.

Yeah, was planning to do that once I see if there's any followup comments here, in particular to see whether it's just me or others have run into this as well ("they're trivially removed with red fuming nitric acid and hydrazine, what are you complaining about?").

Edited to add: And just for reference the feedback will be to point out the problem in a measured manner, the venting is for this thread only.

How big are these labels? Have you tried heating them to soften the adhesive? Places like Bunnings probably have a big problem with customers swapping labels if they come off easily.

Would a product like label strip damage or stain the wood?

Problem with labels I’ve found is that even if you specify “removable” they’re still very sticky and hard to remove. Seems as if, if they’re left on the product for too long they become permanent.

I won't buy glassware from Briscoes for the same reason, unless it's boxed. It takes maybe a dozen cycles in the dishwasher to get rid of all the price sticker residue.

Yep, It's a right pain, often damaging the timber trying to get them off! Was looking at some trim in the weekend and trying to work out if I could make my cuts in such a way as to make sure the offcuts had the stickers.
