Countdowns use of the marketing rip off "great price" when that is a regular over priced item!

Countdown leaving the old great price on for months past when they crank that price up and over charging you at the checkout.**

Yes I hate those 'great price' attention-getting signs designed to fool you into thinking it means 'price reduction' when it just means 'we want to sell this to you'.

I'm not sure if countdown still has the refund policy - if you got overcharged you would get your money back and keep the item.

The scheme worked out well for me for a couple of expensive items but generally I think the house wins 😝

"Great" = large.

Countdown putting the price up and then gerously discounting it down to the old price.

Bloody and smaller. Outrageous! Though I guess free blood could be seen as better value? 🤣

I'll see myself out.

Mega mitre advertising mothers day plant cyclamen for $8 on radio and display and they charge you $8.97, you realise when you live 50 minutes away!

Do they use the same price coding as the Warehouse? If it's priced at x.97 then it's a managers special and the price is negotiable.

The traffic around Te Whanganui-a-tara on a Saturday is almost at a stand still. We tried to travel along Jackson St Petone, after 30 minutes to move one block we decided to turn up a side street, I checked the Waka Kotahi cameras and SH2 was a car park. So decided we don't need to go into the city for a meal and went back home.

It has been this way for weeks now, it is quicker and less stressful if we go up to Paraparaumu or the Wairarapa to shop or as it is becoming more prevalent for us shopping on line.

It doesn't help that the trains not working most weekends and that has been the case for two years.

This annoys me no end: Family considers leaving country due to persistent bullying

Our wonderful "Kai and Aroha" policies for youth offending are working wonders.

The fact that you now have to worry about your kids catching buses and being in public places in what were once safe, relatively affluent areas just does my head in.
I'd understand it if the reports were from the areas that this behaviour has long been associated with and would agree that wraparound services are better than simple punishment in places like that, where gangs and domestic violence are prevalent, but the fact that Auckland is turning into this aggressive, violent wasteland of youth gone wild just really grates me.

Family is currently overseas so went to treat myself to the latest James Bond movie, No Time To Die.   Never seen it.

Cannot find it anywhere to rent, only buy.  I don't feel like paying $24 to watch a movie thank you very much.

Facebook's "most relevant" algorithm.

So they hide from you replies that they don't deem relevant. But that includes replies that you are actually tagged in, and that consequently they deem relevant enough to notify you about.

The only workaround I've found to be able to see these posts is to go back to the original post and turn on "Show All" replies, but you have to do that every time. Is there an easy way to permanently turn off this "most relevant" nonsense?

Seems to be the default on pretty much all social media now.  The "we know better than you do what you want to see" thing that they are doing.

YouTube has also started ordering channel videos by "For You" by default instead of "Latest".
Doesn't seem to generally be a "show all" or "please stop messing with the order and leave at the sensible latest first" option.

Unhelpful replies along the lines of "get rid of the thing you are asking about because I don't like it" annoy me.

Sure, you might not have a need for a certain service and that's great for you.  But others do have a valid (for them) requirement to continue using said service.  In my case, I am a member of a few clubs that post their events and updates on Facebook so "getting rid of Facebook" would mean no longer being easily able to be informed of these events coming up.

Yes, it's annoying having to go onto those pages and have to remember to sort by latest in order to see something relevant instead of from two weeks ago but it's a convenient way to provide their members with information without having to set up bespoke websites etc.

Annoyance no 1 - Thieves steal copper roof from observatory.

Annoyance no 2- 200,000 to repair. How the hell does it cost $200,000 to stick a few bits of metal to some wood...
